DirecTV - home of the NFL Sunday Ticket - did some fancy shmancy scientific survey to determine what games subscribers are watching and where they are watching it from.

Since the NFL Sunday Ticket allows subscribers to watch just about any game they want, the idea is to see what out-of-market city most closely follows each NFL team.

So without further ado, here is the answer to the question: Which city other than Dallas pays the most attention to the Cowboys? (Note: Texas cities that normally get Cowboys games on regular TV like San Antonio, Houston don't count.)

The answer: Washington D.C.

Four conclusions: There are a lot of Cowboys fans in the Washington area; Worried Commanders fans are forever scouting the Cowboys; A lot of people in Washington have Tony Romo as their fantasy league quarterback. There are a lot of TVs in the White House.

Well, I know we are not on the list but I'm going to say Albuquerque. Per Capita, you would be hard pressed to find more fans. Seriously, we get every game, pre-season, scrimage, if it's televised, we get it. The Cowboys are always doing something here. We have a lot of former Cowboys who either live in New Mexico or have ties to New Mexico.

I don't know. Maybe I would just like to believe we should be on the list.

That's not that surprising for those reasons.

There are A LOT of Cowboys fans in this year. (I will withhold my opinion of them, I will just refer to most of them as "fans.")

I do watch the Cowboys whenever they are on -- same with the Iggles and Giants. I do want to see what they look like on the field.

There are a lot of TVs in the area period. It is a pretty large market.

Helps explain why the Florida NFL teams (Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, even Miami to an extent) all fail to attract significant fan bases despite the strong football culture in Florida (esp. for college/High School football)... all their people are "immigrants"!

Well, the Raiders, Chargers, and Broncos are close geographically. The Chicago thing is pretty weird though. Although I do know that Chicago actually has a relatively strong international following in Europe (along with the Dolphins and Giants), and Vegas gets a lot of tourists.

i lived in new mexico for about a dozen years and i would agree with you,
im guessing the small population is the only reason you guys didnt make the list !!
