Well, I know we are not on the list but I'm going to say Albuquerque. Per Capita, you would be hard pressed to find more fans. Seriously, we get every game, pre-season, scrimage, if it's televised, we get it. The Cowboys are always doing something here. We have a lot of former Cowboys who either live in New Mexico or have ties to New Mexico.

I don't know. Maybe I would just like to believe we should be on the list.

:laugh2:
same with Oklahoma City.. we are considered a regional city, as we get all the Cowboys games here too..

Well, the Raiders, Chargers, and Broncos are close geographically. The Chicago thing is pretty weird though. Although I do know that Chicago actually has a relatively strong international following in Europe (along with the Dolphins and Giants), and Vegas gets a lot of tourists.

The first three are in the same division in football, no surprise. Probably closer to LV than other divisions...

And Chicago has always had strong ties to Las Vegas.

Oh yeah! We are plentiful in the DC Metro area!

Count me in as part of the DC numbers. I have the sunday ticket and will watch any other game besides the skins.
Guilty as charged! Usually if the Deadskins are on I'm flipping between games (unless I find a particularly intriguing one) to see how I'm doing on my football pool but the remote gets a little lonely once the Big Boys start to play!

Me too and I agree totally. Their sports talk station WTEM talks about us every day, it's ridiculous. I tease my buddies and brother who are BIG TIME Foreskins that we get more air time then their own team. It's amazing! Trust me, it's a HUGE number of Boyz fans in the DC area and I luv it. After we beat the Eagles on monday nite, it was all COWBOYS on WTEM. It was great!!! They luv us here in DC....:laugh2:

It is very true. Big Tigger on WPGC was talking about on this on his show and he is disturbed with the amount of Cowboy fans here in the DC area. I think I read somewhere that Jerry Jones said that the DC/MD/VA area was the number 1 area for Cowboys apparel above number 2, DFW. Not sure. I mean, I live literally right down the street from Fed Ex Field. I can see it when I get off the train. I wore my Demarcus Ware Jersey on the subway while the Commanders played their preseason game against the Jaguars. It was funny and I loved it. I got stares and all and all I did was laugh.

Jags popular in Norfolk? Ridiculous. There are two teams in Norfolk - Commanders and Cowboys.

That's not what the lis is saying. The Jaguars might be the 10th most popular team in Norfolk for all we know. But outside of Jacksonville, the place where the next-highest number of people watch the Jaguars is Norfolk.

The Cowboys could actually be No. 1 or No. 2 (behind the home team) in every one of those markets, for all we know. But that's not what the list is about.

Great job, Adam. (although "confused" and "David Carr fan" is redundant.)

I can't believe there are more Bears fans in Vegas than in Phoenix, though.

From what I understand one of the ultimate acts of teenage rebellion in a Commander home is to root for Dallas.

Happened to Phil Simms in New York as well, Chris Simms was a big Dallas fan.
He even cheered Dallas on in the 1995 opener on MNF where Simms had his number retired at the half.:D

The younger Simms currently roots for employment.

I'm 45 minutes outside of DC and have the Sunday Ticket just for Dallas.

Well this is of course cities that are not considered viewing area, San Antonio is considered the viewing area so it won't be put on the list as most viewed in a city outside of Dallas.

Rich Dalrymple has said many times that all their research has pointed to San Antonio as having more fans of the Cowboys than any city outside of Dallas.

Barry Horn's blog post was incorrect about what the list measured.

I found a copy of the press release on Yahoo's financial news wire --

http://ca.news.finance.yahoo.com/s/...mes-top-nfl-displaced-fan-cities-america.html

It says, "Below are the U.S. cities/DMAs (Designated Market Areas) featuring the largest out-of-market fan base for each NFL team (based on percentage of NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ subscribers in the DMA that have listed the specific team as their favorite). The results exclude all DMAs that are within the home territory of the local team."

And in the footnotes, it says, "To be considered 'out-of-market' or 'displaced,' the customer’s favorite team must be out of state and more than 100 miles away from the customer’s location."

That explains why San Antonio and Houston aren't listed for the Cowboys.

Also, note that the list isn't about what people are WATCHING, which is what Horn implied. It's about what people have listed as their FAVORITE team. In other words, Washington D.C. isn't listed for the Cowboys because a lot of Commanders fans are watching the Cowboys, it's because a higher percentage of Sunday Ticket subscribers there list the Cowboys as their favorite than anywhere else outside of Texas.

Well, that makes a certain amount of sense. It would be interesting to see where Dallas ranked for each of these cities. Probably fairly high.
