It is my best idea. Get rid of a high priced player who adds nothing, while grabbing two additional quality linemen at less than half the cap dollars. You should follow me on CZ for more hot moves.

Adds nothing? Ignant.

I don't appreciate being called dumb and stupid by some CZ member. You can't handle an opinion I suggest you state your side better. Try doing some math if you want to argue the ramifications of overpaying one player in steep decline vs having options that were presented.

I don't appreciate posts that ignore basic facts like how he led the team in pressures while for the first time in his career missing games.

If you can have him for the same cost as some low level fa replacement, the choice is a no-brainer. Sorry you can't "appreciate" that.

now you are talking about a major league salary reduction? Ware is worth no more than 3mil per year. Are you down to 3 from 12.5?

His health overall concerns me. He's been plagued by injuries the last two seasons and he does have a hernia as well. He's spent most of his career battling more than one person at the snap of the ball and it may have taken its toll.

We did him an injustice by not giving him a reliable; consistent presence on the opposite side(see Harrison-Woodley). We wasted a great opportunity in failing to do so.

Here we are today facing a tough decision that has to be made by our FO. I love Ware, but if he is unable to take a pay cut, how will we stand as far as our cap is concerned? Given his age and the number of injuries he's had recently, would cutting him be the logical choice if he refuses a pay cut? I think so.

This. It's beyond pay. A pay cut does not make someone play better.

Kind of did with Free. He played MUCH better this year with less money. I see your point as this certainly doesnt make it a fact that it will always work out like that, but still...

I think Free played pretty much the same this year as he did the last quarter as last year. But your point remains he played better. Asking Ware to play an incentive laden contract might be the way to go. I still think this is a difficult row to hoe for both sides.
