With all of the interest, maybe he won't come as cheap as many of us would like after all.

Albert Breer

As long as Pacman Jones can avoid pitfalls like the ones in the video game above, he'll probably play in 2008.

By all indications, he wants that to be for the Cowboys. The Cowboys, in turn, have been looking into the possibility.
But remember -- it's not as easy as the team liking the player and player liking the team in this case. Jones is still property of the Titans and, as such, Tennessee will likely try to trade him before releasing him. And if this report from the Tennessean is any incation, there'll be plenty of competition for his services.

The paper is saying that Miami, Detroit, Oakland, Kansas City, Houston, New Orleans and New England have all shown some level of interest in the troubled corner. If they all maintain that interest, Tennessee will almost certainly be able to find a trading partner and that means that the Cowboys and Pacman can like each other all they want, and it won't matter unless Dallas sends a draft pick to Nashville.

The good news is that it looks like this experience has really humbled Jones.
"I thought I was going to get back in eight games and then 10 games and then you sit out the whole year,'' Jones said. "It is hard watching the whole season go by when you know that you are better than 90 percent of the people that's out there.''

I'd let the other teams fight for him then...he just isnt worth risking any significant investment in because he cant be trusted...he isnt some kid who did drugs a couple of times and learned a lesson, he's a street thug and always has been

I think Hos said a 7th rd pick at best...I pretty much agree, the oonly way I'd offer more is if its a conditional future pick based on him staying on our team

While it may be true to say so, boasting that you're better than 90 percent of the league, or even just your position, doesn't help convince others that you've become 'humble'.

:laugh2: Talk about confidence...or arrogance

I agree it's not a very 'humble' thing to say. But, i kind of like that kind of attitude in a CB as long as he is able to back it up on the field and i don't think there is no denying his talent. On the flip side D. Hall thinks he is the best at his position but he gets toasted on a weekly basis.

His talent isn't even questionable. Jones has backed up his claim of being one of the best cornerbacks in the league since day one. So, why boast? He should allow his abilities to do all the talking for him. It's like he's complaining that since he's so good, why isn't he playing? Maybe he doesn't get the fact that his dime-sized brain off-the-field is the real reason why and not his enormous football talent.

Why would we want this guy even cheap?

At some point you have to draw the line and Pac Man should cross anyones line.

Plus Dallas has some of the best Night Clubs in the US. You think PacMan isn't drooling at the chance to make it rain on a consistent basis in Big D?

okay here are my thoughts about Adam Jones. like someone said his talent is not even questionable he is a duel threat CB and KR/PR so that is out the window. next if you lost a whole year of pay wouldn't that make you think about your habbits that caused that, i would.not saying that it did change him, but how do we know he didn't. if we could get him for a 5th 6th or 7th round pick then why not take that gamble and give him a incentive based contract.

I agree with you but another way to interpret what he said, and this might be reaching a little too much with a little bit of wishful thinking in my part, is that he is realizing that he is letting a big opportunity slip away. He knows he has the talent to be an elite corner but becasue of his own off the field issues he is not giving himself every opportunity to succeed and take advantage of his natural abilities and talent.

I guess most people think all football players are choir boys?

Get this guy with a 1st round pick if need be. Everyone saw how Tank is working out. Resident Dr. Phils wanna say he is this or that, but bottom line is Dallas needs him as well.

Anyone interested in the Superbowl please feel free in jumping on the Pac-Man express!

Because with PacMan you can draw three lines into the form of a W=Superbowl...

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

There is no way Miami and BP are willing to take a risk on Pac when they are in full blown rebuild mode. The last thing they can handle right now is a PR disaster. That makes me question the credibility of this story.

They don't need to give a thing for this guy when they will more than likely release him....
He would be a waiver claim and he has a cheap contract as far as base pay. The Cowboys are towards the bottom and the Dolphins have first choice.

What would prevent the Dolphins from signing him and then trading him to Dallas?

Dallas not even wanting him

I might take a shot with this guy. He has unquestioned skills.

Now factor in a solid corner in the draft and you might have taken the sting out of Newman's contract request this next year. Groom the rookie, and you can move Newman to the slot on passing downs with Henry out there.

And if we see another season where Henry has health issues, you have the gear to compete.

Put in a poison pill in Pacman's contract. A behavior clause that relinquishes all monies owed if he gangbangs again.

Drafting a cornerback who will need to make a transistion to the pros, married with Henry's injury history with us, scares me. But add a vet who can bring it, albeit with issues, and then work the rookie onto the field, and we can't complain about that.

I asked this board several years agio how they'd feel when T.O. signs with this team and scores his first touchdown. There were quite a few people who were livid over that idea.

How's that working out for us now?

T.O. never was a Pacman as far as criminal issues. But reclimation projects have a way of working out here.

I'd go so far as giving up the sixth we own and maybe a fifth for him. That sounds like alot, but if the guy turns around, then we have a starter for peanuts.

If not, then we wasted two picks that might not even make this team.

Just my opinion.
