If the picture had been of Free, and Free was not getting punked (that is, if Free was actually blocking Ware), then some of you fools would be saying "Has Ware lost a step? He's getting blocked by a backup tackle!!"

Ware is arguably the best defensive player in the league. He should be doing that to UDFAs, Free, and most starting NFL tackles.

This is what is so ridiculous about looking at matchups when our team is practicing each other.

An OT getting schooled does not mean they suck when it is Ware doing the schooling. He's supposed to do that. Similarly, if offensive is completing 70% of their passes we would have no way of knowing if it is because our pass D sucked or whether our pass O is the greatest of all time.

You cannot make assessments in these kinds of practice. All you can hope is that there are no injuries, good attendance, and that players appear to be progressing and clicking. You cannot get caught up in the who is doing good/bad because that is a double-edged sword.

Any humor I would see it has been snuffed out by the never-ending hand-wringing here about whether one particular thing is an indication that a player completely rules/sucks/lost a step/is a problem/is a mistake/etc. So the fact the picture ends up with some hand-wringing about Free makes the whole thing nothing more than a headache.

There's your answer, it wasn't Campbell it was Burnett (clearly holding Campbell up) that planted him. ;)
