I'm not an apologist for him by any means...

But, seeing it from that angle and using simple physics it seems to me that the person that's holding on to Cantbell may have added some mass in that collision.

Albeit just a small bit, but we don't know exactly the forces that were involved in that collision.

Hadn't seen it from that angle before.

Watkins also hurt himself by not breaking down properly or keeping his head up. I cannot believe that he still tackles like did when he came into the league. You would think that would be the first thing he changes. He must like the feel of a neck stinger.

No way sir. I've watched it over and over again. Had PWat broken down he would not have found himself on his back. It's basic tackling. Break down at the point of attack & wrap up... Burnett did not create the force that knocked PWat on his ***.

Like I said.

I'm not apologizing for him at all.

But, it's simple physics. Physics doesn't lie.

Let's say Cantbell weighs in at 200lbs. Burnett is what? 255lbs?

That's 455lbs of mass coming at you.

mass * acceleration = force

Sure, breaking down would have helped, but physics is physics.

You could break down all you want. If my cousin and I both came at you - I don't care how much you break down. We are going to plant your ***.

**edit**

Actually, I watched it a little more.

Watch how Burnett reacts at the moment of impact. You see Burnett get tossed back a little. If I could slow it down and freeze frame it I bet the vectors involved and some guestimation could come up with what kind of forces were involved.

I've taken the gif, originally posted by Monster Heel, and removed the first 39 frames of the 57 total frames.

Frame 40 is now frame one.

Frames one through nine and eleven through eighteen have been reduced in speed by a factor of ten.

Frames ten has been slowed by a factor of 50.

Here ya go:

Good stuff right there.

Now.. Look at the moment of impact. It looks like they all meet at the same time.

Now follow through and see how Burnett is virtually right up against Cantbell adding to the initial mass at that moment. Then see how Burnett is thrown back, albeit not as much as Watkins. Which makes sense when you break it down into it's component pieces.

Burnett (mass) + Cantbell (mass) > Watkins (mass)

mass * accel = force

let mass = Burnett + Cantbell

Therefore

(Burnett + Cantbell) * accel = force

If you increase any of the variables on any side of the equation the opposite side will also increase.

Does any of this really matter? LOL.

No. Just a fun little exercise.
