BouncingCheese;1511294 said:Amen to you brother; you get my point.
Yes vick gave money, and any gift is a gift, yes I get that.
But my point is exactly how air0208 said it; how can you spend 3 times as much on a dog fight than on the victims of a terrible tragedy?
I guess when it's proven that 30k is actually what he's bet on dog fighting, then he might have a point.air0208;1511291 said:hes not saying it was a bad thing that vick gave 10k hes saying how stupid it is that vick gives only 10 grand to THE worst school shooting in history but spends 3 times as much on ONE single dog fight.

i get your point and part of me does agree with you - and the last thing i wanna do is come off defending this waste of space. i just don't think it's fair to question the generosity of someone unless proportionally you can do more - and do.

Mind you, I'm not saying he's innocent, but nothing solid has been published as to any "real" involvement.

I don't tend to judge people ( At least I think that I don't). However, with athletes and people like Vick I find it very difficult not to.
Because they are in the spotlight so much, and that young kids and impressionable people look at Vick and see that he is seemingly condoning dog fighting (and that they may get the idea that it is okay) makes it really hard to not judge vick.
I wonder what Goodell is going to do; Honestly they might have to make an all-convict league; the scary thing is that the most talented and explosive players would probably be there...
jrumann59;1511329 said:IMHO Goodell won't suspend him unless the dog fighting charges come to fruition. Beyond the crass acts he has done like the dirty bird and the "alleged" herpes incident he has done nothing to warrant a suspension. As far as anyone knows he hasn't failed the leagues substance abuse policy so anything about drug use is circumstantial at best. Don't get me wrong I would mind putting the dirt bag in the ring with his fighting dogs and see who comes out the winner but he will be playing 16 games this season unless he is found guilty in his involvement with the dog fighting.

This reminds me of Heidi Fleiss situation where lot of big named entertainers were holding their breath as the story unfolded.iceberg;1511762 said:they were talking about this on the ticket and apparantly there are other NFL players who were also seen at the dog fights.
they even said nate newton was big into dog fighting. this has the potential to be a pretty big story this year.
well, if you give a damn about dogs. : )

I suspect that when the investigation is complete, that is exactly what will happen. I'm glad this is taking some time. That gives me some reason to be optimistic this won't get botched in a rush to charge someone only to have this blow up in someones face later.FuzzyLumpkins;1511870 said:Its been weeks since the raid and so far no charges have been filed against Vick yet everyone already has the rope out.
And I'm still happily a member...days go by, the ring gets bigger, Vick becomes a bigger player, and the Steadfastly Somber Jurists remind us that, as official jury members, he's innocent until proven guilty so we shouldn't rush to judgment. And, oh yeah, we should put down our pitchforks...Meanwhile, we in the DVS chortle and remind you that this isn't a jury and we haven't yet acquired our pitchforks.FuzzyLumpkins;1511870 said:i love this. None of you know the facts of the case. Do not know the specifics of what was said about Vick or by who these statements were made but judgemnet has been passed.
I was right on when i coined the DVS.
