...someone needs to punch Jerry out. $75 to park is a complete rip!

LINK

If you're going to the grand football opening of JerryWorld tonight, consider this warning from a Cowboys official: "If you're less than three hours early, you're late."

In other words, traffic and parking are expected to be a mess for the Titans-Cowboys preseason game tonight.

The Cowboys are opening the stadium lots at 2 p.m., five hours before the game. The stadium plazas will open at 4 p.m. and the gates at 5 p.m. The team recommends you go to dallascowboysmaps.com to print directions for arrival and departure.

Parking prices are pretty steep. For example, the face value for passes in the lot where the media will park is $75.

Texas Rangers owner Tom Hicks is pitching in to help the cause while stuffing as much cash in his pockets as possible. There will be cash parking in the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington lots. The prices: $60 --A, M, & J Lots, $50 --B & N Lots, $40 --C, F, G, H, & I Lots, $30 --E & K Lots, $20 --D, L. & Star Lots.

I'm pretty worried about this tonight.

Does anyone know where those cheaper lots at the Ballpark are? (I'm assuming the farthest away, but maybe they're cheaper for some other reason.) Are they easier or harder to get out of when you're leaving?

You guys who are going... Where are you planning to park?

I'm definitely concerned about traffic. I don't get off of work until 4pm, and have 2 stops to make on the way.

Should be able to enter your zip code, then it routes it for you.

I have Lot 11 parking pass. It tells me to go 360 to Abrams, over to Collins and back up to my lot.
No fraking way am I going South on 360 at 4 to 5 in the afternoon.

I'm taking 157 to Green Oaks, go over to Cooper or Fielder, then down to Randoll Mill or Division and then over to Collins.

I was playing around with that as well as stadium.dallascowboys.com, and I couldn't find anywhere where they even told you how much the various lots cost. Good thing the papers tell us, I guess. Anyone else think Jerry needs a new web designer?
Should be able to match the prices of the lots to the maps on that other site.

No bus type thing to help you on your 2 mile hike?

There's a free trolley system, but I don't know how they determine who gets to use it.

I'd google Arlington Trolley and see if there's good details there.

Did they seriously spend this much on a stadium and not think out traffic and parking?

It's too bad Arlington shuns the whole public transportation thing. It'd be nice to be able to ride a rail or something like you can down to the AAC. No cost for parking and you don't have to fight traffic. Oh well. :(

I think a lot of the problem is the fact that the construction is still going on around the stadium. 30 and 360 are still under construction to allow for higher through put. Also this is their first run at a 80k+ event at the stadium so I would imagine that the Cowboys are wanting to try and get people there as early as possible to help prevent as many problems as possible.

I agree with this. That's one thing I like about going to Dallas Stars games. I can hop on the train in Irving (less than a mile from home), and within 15 minutes I'm standing in front of the AAC.

Ugh. I'm about 2.5 hours from the stadium and thinking 2.5 hours early was sufficient. At least the lot is very close to the stadium.

Thats when you know you're a real fan. When you have season tickets even though means driving 5 hours each time.

...at least I believe I remember you having season tickets.
