We have him take first team reps for two years, then pull the plug on him after 3 weeks when he has no one to throw the ball downfield to, and chose to go with a guy who had been with the team less than a month.

Just putrid decisions all around. The coaching staff should have either stuck it out with him, or known what he was capable of after seeing him in practice for 2 years.

Having said that, they ultimately decided Cassell was better despite unfavorable circumstances.

I'm kind of interested to see that, too. Just like I wonder what might have happened if we'd won that coin toss in NOLA. That drive to tie up that game was really impressive. Going from that to getting neutered by Belichick and benched the week before Dez got back is just a run of really bad luck.

Yet when we release him he's claimed almost immediately.

Well, the Texans do have two of the Browns fired QBs manning the helm. No one on this board looks bad because the Texans picked him up immediately. The Texans are to ones who look dumb. He fits their profile perfectly.

I think you are missing a big portion here. Now NexGen did say he beleived in Weeden, but many of us believes he will due to the mere fact, we re the Cowboys, and the other teams get good luck and do things a bit better regarding some positions. Myself did say back up QB is one position this team just flat out ignores. Does this mean Weeden will win due the fact hes Weeden, no.
