I think the cowboys can go anywhere from 10-6 to 11-5, strongly thinking the dallas cowboy fan in me, 11-5, but my favorite cowboy roger staubach says 12-4. Here is the article.

Legendary QB Roger Staubach praises Romo, says Dallas Cowboys will finish 12-4

Roger Staubach – the legendary Dallas Cowboys quarterback whose ice-water-in-the-veins cool earned him the nickname "Captain Comeback" – called a surprise audible Monday afternoon when asked about Emmitt Smith's dour 7-9 prediction for the upcoming season.

"You know, I love Emmitt but I feel a lot different about this season," Staubach said. "I'd say 12-4, our favor."

Staubach, the Hall of Famer who led the Cowboys to four Super Bowls in the 1970s, also disagreed with Smith on the prospects for Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

"When you say things are going to change, and you've never been that dominant personality or in that leadership position, then as a player, you lose me," Smith said on ESPN radio. "I'm sitting there saying, ‘OK, now you're going to become a leader?' "

Staubach said the criticism focused on Romo may sharpen his play.

“Sometimes, the more pressure on you, the better performer you can be, and Tony is that kind of athlete,” Staubach said. “But in football, you can’t do it by yourself. They have enough talent and enough leaders on that team to be champions.”

Staubach, whose composure under pressure earned him the nickname “Captain Comeback,” stopped short of saying he sees a little of himself in Romo — the competitive spirit and thirst for victory.

“That’s what I miss the most, the competition and the thrill of winning,” Staubach said. “I was never a sore loser, but I didn’t like to lose. It was painful, and you try to make up for that pain by winning the next game, and that’s what’s happening right now.

“Tony is going through the pain of building to a championship level, which I think he’ll do.”

Staubach said the new stadium is sure to inspire excitement among fans, which can translate into wins for the players and team. He remembered the Cowboys opening Texas Stadium in 1971.

“We were kind of off to a shaky start that year, but then when we moved into the stadium, we didn’t lose a game … and we went on to win the Super Bowl,” Staubach said.

“So, hopefully, there’s a sign there.”

Could not have said it any better than the man himself

Exactly, sometimes competition and pressure put on you makes you a better person. I loved Staubach, he is my first favorite cowboy, met him once, then bob lily, then drew pearson, then emmitt smith and the moose. Met them all, have met about 57 players down through the years.

Hush your fuss, Staubach. Throw it to Owens. He's always open.

Championship.

I was referring to the line "But in football, you can’t do it by yourself" No matter what Tony does it still takes a team to win a championship. Tony has taken the heat but when you go back and look at the Cowboys melt down late in the season it goes well beyond Romo. These players Romo included needs to go out and lay it on the line for the team, not individual glory or awards.

True Doomsday, I totally agree with that, but the QB must be the leader on the team, especially on offense. The Qb is like the general on the team, players must respect him and follow him, believe in him. I think that is exactly what Romo is doing this year. Romo is growing up, leading some on the field and on the sidelines. Like when he threw a TD he ran down and celebrated with the offensive linemen, or he was talking to the linemen on the sidelines. Thats what the QB does, he leads by example on and off the field.

And Roger says "They have enough talent and enough leaders on that team to be champions.” There are many leaders on championship teams, yes Romo has to be one. In the 90's Troy was one, Emmitt was one, Irvin was one, Woodson was one and some others as well. I agree the QB is a major player but I also think as coach after coach has said through out the years. QB's get too much credit for wins and too much blame on loses. Team game that needs to be played by team players, not a bunch of followers but guys willing to lay it on the line for the sake of the team

Love Roger to death, but 12-4 might be a bit ambitious.

Well we will shoot between Emmitt prediction and Rogers 10-6 :laugh2:

Romo had a poor first half, which I have to admit made me a bit nervous. However, overall he looked like he learned quite a bit over them summer about ball security and leadership, if that's the case the Cowboys will win double digits and contend.

Staubach may be the only professional athlete that, when he speaks, I drop whatever I'm doing and listen. Or in this case, read.

So Staubach agrees with me. I feel good now.

Thats what he said Hostile, I was thinking more along the lines 11-5, 10-6 after some things changed this year.

However, I trust Roger, met him once, he is a nice guy. He gave me a white and black photograph of him throwing the football to calvin hill in a vikings game.
