Because he's not saying the problem was with the scheme or the coaching? But instead due to poor execution and to injury to the best players on the offense? It really shouldn't be all that interesting, but you're right that it probably will be.

I think what he was really saying is the talent (Hayden, Wilcox, Carr, Wilber) on defense is not good enough. They don't make plays. :D

That's definitely true. Though, we were more talented this year than we were last year. Or at least I thought so, going into the season. But they played worse somehow.

Dez and Tony had a lot to do with it.

Yep, this is constantly overlooked.

Going into the season, if we knew we wouldn't have a healthyDez/Romo for the majority of the season...most of us would have predicted a dreadful season. We got exactly that. If you cherry picked the two best players from each playoff team in the NFL and took them from the equation, they would all be dreadful as well.

We should've got a couple more wins if we had better coaching but we weren't going to go far without those two guys. I am guessing they are the two highest paid players on our team(maybe Tyron is more than Dez, I don't feel like checking) there is a reason for that.

When the Cowboys became Troy Aikman's team, there was something to his presence.

On the same cord, the absence of Tony Romo, has a strong negative effect as well. This is his Cowboys team now...

What Greg Hardy might not be the locker room killer anti-christ the media portrays him to be after all? Color me shocked.

That's the most baffling part to me too. I posted all of the additions, draft picks, and returns in another post, but they somehow managed to be worse.

I can't tell you, stash, how much I miss watching a team with a suffocating defense. I'd love to use all available resource there, but we just need a QB to develop too badly.

Anyone developing a conspiracy around Sean Lee...just isn't a fan and just doesn't know jack about football.

I get it it, he has to say this stuff. He's a leader , he can't dish out blame. If they didn't execute once in a while, ok, nobody executes 100% of the time. 50% would have been good for this team. But, They NEVER executed, which means it was because of poor planning or lack of coaching. I wish our coaches had the balls of our players and would fall on the sword as much as our guys do. Lee is a stand up guy. As are Guys like Tony and JW, Smith, Fred and ZM. They are willigto take the blame so that it doesn't point the flaws in the system. But even the boss blames the poor coaching for the lack of wins and execution. Last year the pulled it together in spite of the poor coaching and bad system, this year with the injuries, they couldn't do so.

I'm sure they played hard and competed but they didn't play THAT HARD. And Lee doesnt know any other culture so ill take that with a grain of salt.

You can't tell me that with a straight face we played hard and had good culture when McClain is nonchalanting around and guys aren't playing with their hair on fire. That's what separates the best teams from the average teams. You don't have to look too far back to see that.. 2000 ravens, 2002 bucks, 2007 giants, 2008 Steelers, 2013 Seahawks and 2015 Broncos. Those defenses played hard, disciplined and aggressive football.

I'm not comparing our talent to those teams by any means. But I watched all those defenses and that was playing hard.
The culture of a locker room changes from year to year and to suggest Lee hasn't seen quite a few of them is cutting the man short.

You're going to believe what you want to believe, but Lee's right here. We lost a lot of talent on offense, and the defense wasn't talented enough to begin with. This is why we weren't able to execute in so many game-deciding situations. And having the extra talent is why we were able to execute in those situations last year.

The coaching and the schemes didn't change. People want to blame them because they want somebody to pay the price for losing and it's not fair or satisfying to blame an injured player. But wanting something to be the reason for something doesn't make it so.

So who stepped up for GB when A-Rod was lost for the year? How about the Patriots? Or Pittsburgh?

Last I checked those 3 teams made the playoffs regardless of the excuses.

The Packers were one play away from beating the Cardinals. Aaron Rodgers willed and clawed his way through that mess of a team and almost won that game. That team delivered when it had zero business being in the same field as AZ.

The Steelers were decimated and Big Ben and comp. Almost beat the Champion Bronocs. They were in it until the very end.

The Patriots lost god knows how many key players and have a terrible offensive line. The shear notion of that team being one play away from another sb appearance speaks volumes to their organization.

Other teams find a way to keep the wheels on the rail. We happen to derail ourselves straight into a pit and look for excuses every ******** time. I'm sick of it.

I think that this one boils down to absolutely no home field advantage for the Cowboys in their new home. 8-0 in 2014...away.

Newsbot needs to take a course in formatting etiquette. Posts are hard to read sometimes and if newsbot doesn't start to take things more seriously I'm going to start believing that he's just trying to pad his post count.

newsbot likes this.... :)

i guess i got tired of reading "not on the same page" - and to me that falls back to coaching. after this many years, how can that still happen?

last year is kinda like its been now for 7 or 8 years always one kind of excuse or another why every year is a failure. when other teams find ways to win and keep going forward we fall of the cliff.
