INDIANAPOLIS – Sean Lee’s rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee is ahead of schedule, Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones said Wednesday. The 28-year-old middle linebacker is expected to be a full participant in April’s off-season program.
After Lee suffered his injury during organized team activities, the Cowboys traded for middle linebacker Rolando McClain. The former first-round pick made a significant impact when healthy, finishing second on the team in tackles. Jones said the Cowboys are “very interested” in re-signing McClain.
His return would likely force Lee to move to an outside linebacker position.
“Sean can play any of the spots,” Garrett said. “We will try to figure out who is on the roster, talking about some of these free-agent decisions. Hopefully we can get our guys back and we’ll decide where those guys go to help our football team.
