This is pure BS, if anybody in the organization was bad mouthing the franchise QB Jerry would have them strung up, simple as that.

The unintended consequence of making the team "Romo friendly" is that it made Tony look psychologically weak (i.e. couldn't co-exist with TO). Who knows? Maybe he is.
CutMeMick;2999409 said:As Troy has said about Romo; " I don't think he fully realized what it meant to be QB of the Dallas Cowboys".
What Romo is going through should come as no surprise to anyone, least of all to himself.
Lest we forget, in NYC Eli was getting skewered by EVERYONE until he started winning meaningful games. Yes, it may have been the defense, or running game, or "luck", whatever- but the QB gets all the credit &/or the blame for how a team performs.
If Romo is too fragile to handle the heat of being the Boyz' QB, then he needs to step aside & we can draft someone else.
Suck it up, or give it up.....pick one!
So when will Bobby Carpenter be strung up in the public square?Beast_from_East;2999642 said:This is pure BS, if anybody in the organization was bad mouthing the franchise QB Jerry would have them strung up, simple as that.

So were Joe Montana and Steve Young.McCordsville Cowboy;2999831 said:Peyton was a day 1 starter and didnt come on the spot light at 27. The comparisons are just ridiculous.
6'5 laser rocket arm with leadership ability and a winning attitude > 6'2 average arm, with a "we will get em next time" attitude

Some of you lash out at anything negative said by the media about the Cowboys. You should consider for a moment that most of the negative information "spewed" by the media the last few years has generally been true.

Worse QB in the league.
Fix this Jerry and give 2 1st's for Brady Quinn right now.

I think Romo has the potential to be good in almost any offense.Joe Rod;2999868 said:So you're saying we should convert to the West Coast Offense? Actually, that might be a good move in 2010.

Showtime: Don't publicly point fingers at Tony Romo
Barry Horn/Reporter
You just knew the boys at Showtime's Inside the NFL would get around to dissecting the Cowboys on Wednesday night. It seems Phil Simms and Cris Collinsworth don't think Tony Romo is getting enough support from Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett, Jerry Jones, et al. In fact, they believe there are too many negative vibes coming out of Valley Ranch.
Insider Michael Lombardi claimed: "In talking to the people in the (Cowboys) organization, they are losing a little confidence in Tony Romo. Tony Romo is not doing the things they wanted him to. He is not winning games down the stretch, as he has done in the past. They are disappointed in his play. And certainly with TO gone now, there are no more excuses. Tony Romo now is the guy that the bullet in on."
Simms, CBS' lead analyst, and Collinsworth, NBC's top dog, think that's crappy of folks in the organization to be saying those kind of things behind Romo's back. They believe that a team always has got to rally around its No. 1 QB and especially in these tough times.
Simms, who as we all know is a former QB: "...If he is the guy, even if he is not playing well, lie. Protect him. Protect the perception to the rest of the team. When you put the blame on him you don't want to do that. You undermine all his credibility, his ability to really lead the team. It happens al the time. Franchise quarterbacks who don't play well, the teams say, 'well the whole team has to pick it up,' they don't single him out..."
Collinsworth, who was a wide receiver in his playing days: "Is there an organization in football that (is the subject of) more rumors and this stuff gets out (about) than the Dallas Cowboys? It seems like all the time you are hearing, oh they really don't like him...Every team has some stuff going on, but it's a team. You are supposed to rally around the guy, especially the quarterback. If you are not protecting your quarterback off the field with the media, in the newspaper, you have no chance."

Take a step back. Look at the last decade and a half. Look at Jerry Jones. Jones and the Dallas Cowboys don't get the benefit of a doubt where any reasonable person is concerned.
And after the last 6 or 7 games, neither should Tony Romo. He's accumulating quite a pile of stinker games (both with Terrell Owens and without him). To think Jones is now looking for others to blame other than the GM isn't just possible, it's expected from the clown.
But I guess if you're still homered out after the first month of another doomed season, blaming the messenger keeps you wrapped in a fantasy world where Dallas is still a contender.

Thing is, it's getting late. He's 29. No matter how much people want to downplay age, it's a factor. How many good, healthy years does he have left? Many great QBs have been effective into their mid-30s, but for the most part, guys don't play like Favre and Elway when they're 35+. We don't have a lot of years with any given player, and for Jerry to squander season after season is awful.
Same with Ware. This first month notwithstanding, he's the best defensive player this organization has had since Randy White got old. And year after year of his prime is getting flushed down the toilet by Jones.
Until fans show their displeasure with the way Jerry Jones runs the organization by not showing up, he won't change. His whole Garrett/Wade plan has hamstrung the organization from the start. Many fans latch on to the 12-1 start in '07, and won't recognize even now that that was an aberration.
The real problem isn't Romo, TO, injuries, or Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett. The real problem sits in a skybox on Sundays, grinning, while fans' $$$ keep feeding our fake GM's ego.
