I'll be the first to admit that I haven't been real high on Romo for a while (dating back to last season), but he's our best chance at winning. No doubt about it. I don't buy the idea that insiders are losing faith in Romo. Hell, I'm as skeptical as anyone about the guy, and even I haven't lost faith.

Does he frustrate me? Oh hell yes. More than I'm comfortable with. The fact remains that he's our guy. I can't imagine his teammates or coaches feel any differently.

i think TO helped him look good alot...ran off double coverages to open the field up...but Tony needs to step up now...its all on him...all 60 million of it!

I understand the line of thinking, but honestly, it's on Jerry Jones. He was the one who jettisoned Owens (paid him $9,000,000 to play for someone else) and came right out and announced the offense "Romo Friendly".

The whole idea that improving your team by diminishing it's talent was a joke to begin with. The whole "spread the ball around" to other players only works when the "other players" are up to the task. As it stands, our most explosive weapon is made of glass, the matchup nightmares that Witten and Bennett were supposed to create seem more like folk-lore than reality, and our WR corp is average at best. Not really the greatest recipe for success regardless of who is manning the QB position.

I don't seem to remember Aikman being so great under similar circumstances.

Jason Garrett has no moral grounds to be questioning the play of Tony Romo, when it was Romo that saved his butt countless times, scrambling to keep failed drawn up plays alive? Hell, he did it again in Denver with the scamble that allowed Hurd to break his route and catch a pass that went 5o plus yards....

I havent payed attention to anything today until now. What in the hell is this about?

Lombardi didnt say anything about this to dunham and miller yesterday morning?

and I have to tell myself its not true, because if it is and romo is being doubted Its all over for him here and probably for this team for awhile.

no matter what people tell themselves without romo we are not even a competitive team.

And just for fun, bob glauber of the ny daily news told the story last year of how far eli had fallen in NY before the super bowl run. Ernie Acorsi was attending the giants vikings game in november of 07 and after manning had maybe the worst game of his career, acorsi went to the mara's suite and apologized for drafting manning because it was a mistake.

about 8 weeks later he was a champion. go figure.

Whoa, this Eli story's too good to pass up!

My friend's a huge Giants fan- do you have a link or source to this story?
He claims this is BS, & I haven't been able to find it.

Any help?
Thanx.

I heard it on the sporting news prediction show going into the 08 season. I actually cant remember if it was bob glauber or ralph vacchianao of the daily news.

I will search for them and see if I can find a blog about it. But I heard it.

Here is vacchiano mentioning a little of it. It must have been bob glauber, although he is an espn guy. Either way I found it to be an amazing story and know I am not wrong.

Pointing fingers is very rude.

Naw, I'm not questioning your veracity, I just wanna have backup to throw in my boy's face.

I know Eli had lynch mobs ready for him after that 4 interception game, but I'd never heard the Accorsi story before.
Fact is, Accorsi always said that Eli was his final legacy, so I'm surprised he would've dumped him like that & especially to the Maras themselves!

Beautiful.:laugh2:
