On if he has any regrets about coming back when he did instead of allowing his collarbone to heal more: "No, because at that time, we didn't have many games left. If I waited any longer, we're not going to have a chance at the playoffs any way. There's really no point. For me, it was like if you're going to come back, you're going to come back then. It obviously re-broke because it wasn't strong enough yet. But you take that risk when you come back. I know the risks. It's a bone, it'll heal. It's not rocket science."

Sad that we were in such a dependent position on him to play to have any success. That is a harsh indictment.

Any competitor wants to play. But to absolutely have to for your team to win just speaks volumes about how the backup QB decision and the scheme itself basically put him in an unfair situation where he had to risk his health.

Don't forget Dez and his broken foot as well. What a disaster! Both should have never came back that soon, but we needed both so bad it was pathetic.

Has a lot more to do with the play of the QB than the scheme. The scheme is fine, but it does require a QB that can read the D and attack the weak areas... in Weeden's case, he couldn't make the read and in Matt's case, he didn't have the arm to attack the D.. Moore did pretty good, just made a lot of mistakes that cost him his chance to win some games.

Then the logical question must be asked...........why the hell was Weedon on the team for two freaking years if he couldn't read a defense?

Our genius coach from Princeton watched Weedon every day in practice for 2 freaking years and never realized he couldn't read a defense?

I knew Garrett wasn't the brightest bulb in the package from all of his game management botches, but dam, that is borderline incompetent.

No, it needs a Romo-caliber QB to get them out of the rigid system constraints.

This is ALL we have had under Garrett.

Everyone else has failed.

I see so possible way you could say the "system is fine".

Even players that were highly functional in it like Kitna and to a very very lesser extent, Orton were not put into conditions of success.

That is the main function of a "system". It is supposed to be user friendly, not selective.

We've gone from a Romo interview to a bashing of Garrett. Damn it's going to be a long offseason. Sigh.

What would you have had him do? Half the league doesn't even have a competent starter.
