Sounds a little cold but it is a business. I do think the Cowboys are wanting to help the guy and I consider that not just classy but the right thing to do. If he does well both he and the team benefit on and off the field. If he doesn't do well few people will blame the Cowboys IMO. All you can do is offer a hand up.

It isn't just a business it is arguably the biggest business unit int he business biggest industry(NFL).

The Cowboys rating eclipse that of anything else on TV that is non-NFL and eclipse that of any one other NFL team.
The Cowboys are a billion dollar a year business.

Yes but that was not in the vein I was commenting on. But you're right. I still think most of Jerry wants to win. I might be wrong and I recognize he wants to get his dollars as every CEO would, but winning is his largest driving force. I think he wants to win so bad and right now he is often short sighted.

There is no doubt that Jerry would welcome him back with open arms.

I would say there would be min. of 6 game suspension by league if he un-retires. Most likely he would get a year ban.

If he can help our DL and stay out of trouble I look forward to having him back.

That's funny.

Not only would they, they are COUNTING on Brent to come back. They didn't give him all this "support" because they want him to become a fine burger flipper. Jerry is a drunk himself, so there's nothing here that will dissuade him from bringing back Brent at all.

I don't know if he would even fit Marinelli's system. He was a 3-4 NT and his top skill was as a run stopper.

So the best this team can do is to take this guy back? A guy that has had drinking problems & ended up involved in a accident that killed a teammate & by the time all this jail & suspensions are over it would have been a long long time since he last played. That's the best they can do?

Broaddus thought he was the starting 1 tech if he had been available. I got to believe that's what the team thought too.

Yes, last season or right now he would be, but once they add the players that Marinelli wants, then I don't know if he would be one of them.

I would expect Jerry to be interested, but what about Brent?

I can't imagine coming back to the same place where something like that happened. I would think of that player every time I was in the stadium.

We might as well take a look at Ray Rice too, all he does is knock the snot out of women, hasn't killed anyone yet.....that we know of.

This.

They reported on one of the DFW local sports radios shows that Brent works for the Jerry in some Cowboys (apparel?) warehouse. Why would he support him if they did not want him back under the right circumstances?

Hadn't heard that.

Interesting.

If he serves his time..does his rehab and comes out clean..

why not?

He's paid his dues and he will have alot ahead of him if he plays..

This was an accident where death occurred. Not a murder where malice was pre-disposed.

Big difference.

Take him back and see what happens.

Alcohol addiction and dealing with that distraction..

vs. homosexual NFL players such as SAM and dealing with that distraction..

is an easy choice for me.

Welcome back, Brent.

Goodbye SAM.

Simple.
