Not only did they play the Rams, they played them at home. We traveled to Paul Brown Stadium, and beat a team that was considered at the time, the most improved team over the offseason.

And a team that was picked to maybe win it's division over a tough Pittsburgh team.

I don't care who you play in the NFL. Any win is tough to get.

You see it every week. An NFL basement dweller beats a good team. The Eagles won the way they should.

I'm curious to see if the Eagles have figured out how to defend Romo. They were the first to figure out how to beat Irvin and Aikman.

let me sum it up for you.

We beat a more impressive team but the eagles were more impressive.

Either way. The eagles are 6-2 at the stadium under andy reid. They hate us. They will come here looking to prove something to everyone in the country. The eagles won here in december.

It is going to be a tight 3 point type of game. I expect stingy defense from both sides.

I think this is the toughest game of the year. I dont want to lose this game.

Good call...it'll be tough.

But I think our guys want to beat them just as bad. Unlike the last few years, our guys aren't afraid of the Eagles. We have more talent and better athletes.

It all comes down to how much their blitzes confuse us.

Close game for sure....But I think we've had this circled for a while.

I live in eagle land and most of their fans that I know believe they are back and ready to contend for this division. I think they are a team to be reckoned with, but that rams team put up no fight at all. They were pathetic, and if the eagles think we will be that easy, well guess what, it will be a dogfight and I think this will be a close win for our Boys.

A lot of focus will be on how the Eagle defense is more than a match for our offense.

But our defense is a pretty good match for their offense.

that they played a top 3 scrub team and we played a team that is/was expected to make a playoff run. I mean the Rams are beyond awful and everyone knew they would be beyond awful. What's all the Eagles hype about???

You obviously haven't been watching preseason. This is a Browns team that was losing 31-3 to the Giants in the first quarter! They have been ABYSMAL in the entire preseason, particularily offensively, and I'd be shocked in the Browns made the playoffs...they played a cake schedule last year. I admit the Rams are awful, but Derek Anderson faded at the end of last year and the Browns are below average.

Relax fans, Cowboys are a legitimate great team and the Eagles will not win this, although if we went to their house, it could be the opposite result.

Lets see how they do when they play a real team with a top tier offense and defense. They will not be able to pin their ears back all game like they did against the Rams.

You need to go back to earlier posts in this thread. NOONE said the Eagles are garbage. If anything-Reid has done a fantastic job rebuilding this team after that '04 SB team got old.

The pt we are trying to make is that the Browns and Rams are equally bad. If Eagles fans say how their team is GREAT based on their wk1 win, but the Boys haven't proved anything by beating an equally bad team, then they can't have it both ways.

So preseason means exactly what? Nothing.

I thought Dallas fans were saying that they beat an above average team in the Browns, and I would strongly disagree with that. It didn't hurt that Stallworth didn't play, either. I for one, agree, the Eagles are not great. The played a very good game against a pathetic team, but I'll reserve judgement until I see them at Dallas and vs. Pittsburgh the next two weeks. Should be interesting. I do think the Eagles defense is slightly better than last year and their special teams are much better. Not sure about the offense.

Yes-according to all these preseason mag "rags", alot of people were picking the Brownies to win the AFCN and reach the AFC Title game, which is why they seem "above average" in our perceptions. And for that matter too-the Rams aren't as bad as everyone says they are. With their O and playing in a weak NFCW, they'll likely be a playoff contender in Dec.

But nonetheless, alot of us here have come to a conclusion that they've been overhyped thanks to Derek Anderson having a Cinderella year against creampuff competition. We're just happy with the W for now(especially after what happened in the playoffs last year).

With that being said-great or not, pretty much everyone here feels the Eagles are scary. And our Mon night matchup will be a dogfight.

What is it with the Rams franchise every good quarterback they get after a few seasons starts to thro off his back foot. And people say Dallas can't judge o-line talent. I bet Jim Everett is screaming, "I told you it wasn't me, the protection is always breaking down."

St.Louis wouldnt be a playoff contender in the CFL. They are a train wreck.

Nonetheless-the Eagles looked pretty darn good. I thought the score would be like 34-21(with one of their scores coming meaningless late in the game). 38-3 is nothing to bark about, no matter the competition.

Never said it did, on the contrary I called the eagles win more impressive.

I dont think mcnabb will have the luxury of wr running wide open 50 yards down the field next week. He will have to be quick and accurate. Those are not his strong points.

Our defense had one of its better games in december against them, unfortunately romo was off early and then injured his thumb and we lost gurode, canty and watkins.

Its a 3 point game. I have no idea who will win. They both are good teams. I know the eagles wont make those big plays down the field though, we just wont let them. They will have to drive the field and earn their points. Mcnabb is not accurate on alot of those types of throws and if you put pressure on him he may get impatient and try and throw the ball down the field and make mistakes.

They certainly are capable of taking the ball on 10 minute drives and scoring but I am willing to bet mcnabb and reid get impatient somewhere. Demarcus ware was fantastic last year against them and ellis has been outstanding historically against runyan. If spencer plays we will have a variety of options to get to mcnabb.

The interesting thing to me is Zach thomas. IF the deep balls are taken away and mcnabb is forced to be methodical he will look to dump to westbrook or throw in the middle of the field to lj smith, Zach thomas is perfect in this role to slow them down.

So if zach can force mcnabb to hold the ball the 5 guys rushing can really cause some problems.

Special teams and turnovers can do us in quickly, obviously. As long as we dont lose the turnover and field position game we have a very good chance.

The Eagles have to do two things. Get pressure on Romo, and stifle the Cowboys running game. Easier said than done, though they did pressure Romo in the game at Dallas last year. The Browns got zero pressure on Romo, just like the Rams got no pressure on Mcnabb. The one thing that gives me a little hope is I heard some Cowboys fans complaining that there wasn't enough pressure on the Browns QB. If that is true, that plays more into Mcnabb's hands....I'd agree with those that say Mcnabb is not good at getting rid of the ball quick. I worry about Mcnabb against teams with good pass rushes.

QB - Draw
RB - Draw (Eagles win if Barber doesn't play)
WR - Cowboys
TE - Cowboys
OL - Cowboys
DL - Draw
LB - Eagles
CB - Eagles
S - Eagles
ST - Draw

We dominated a team that finished 10-6 last year, went 7-1 at home, and had the #4 offense in the NFL in their yard

You dominated a team that might very well lose to any of the top 3-4 teams in college football at home
