Dak has already shown you his ceiling. He's a good guy. No, he's a GREAT guy. But he's not bringing Dallas to the promised land. Let him finish his contract through next season. See how he does, see how Trey Lance does. And if neither one of them work out, then draft a QB in April 2025. I don't know who all will be available, but I know scouts are very high on sophomore Drew Allar at Penn State. Not sure when Shedeur Sanders comes out. There are others as well; certainly the '24 and '25 draft classes will be better than '23.

Agreed. Let's use this as the official, Dak can't do it and should not be extended thread.

Any Jones talking about paying this guy 50+ million a year should be laughed at. Dak is the typical coach killer. Can make plays but can't make the ones that matter.

I was on the fence with him, but I'm out. He can't get it done. He's not elite.

Its wait and see time right now. And its 3 games into the season. But I do agree that this is the time in which one ponders that extension.

To even be talking about this in week 3 is moronic anyway but here we are with the "official don't extend Dak" thread lol.

I was never in favor of giving him a contract to begin with and I was called all kinds of names for it. You just never know which Dak is going to show up but the one who does show up is actually overpaid. He's not that good. He misses quite a few throws, can't read the field well. Now when he's bad he is really bad but when he has a decent game it's still not that impressive.

I completely agree, let him play out the rest of his contract and then he can go be someone else's problem.

I say we play Dak until mid season. If he continues to be the inept QB he is, which he likely will, we pull and demote him to practice squad and promote Lance and see what he can do. If he can bring life to the team, keep him. If not, look to the draft. We need a QB, O-linemen, interior D-line, a CB, and a TE. Maybe a WR if we can afford it.

I agree and it's unfortunate because Dak is a great human but he's not a superbowl type QB. Can't say he didn't make it though... his wealth and accomplishments are beyond any of ours.
Hes a great qb. No question about it.
