Do not lose sight of this

I don't mind rookies only contributing a little in their first year, but we're not talking 1 year for Jaylon to get back to what he was. Even assuming he heals up and is as good as new (big if), he'd be sitting out an entire year so year 2 would be his rookie year. That means we're looking at Year 3 being the year he starts putting things together.

Or you could see it this way: we are getting 2 first round picks in 2017...which is nice...

Drifting Elliott? Absolutely... Would I have done something different in round 2? Probably, but if he was truly the BPA in their mind, I won't fault them for it.

I'm not faulting them for it, but I'm not going to praise some 'grand plan' either. That's the crux of my issues. They're contradicting past decisions and don't appear to have a consistant strategy.

so we either have to take all players that can start day 1 or all players that will take 1-2 years to develop or get on the field? Why not get one of each like we did? Both are great players that will likely be huge parts of our future.

This isn't about 'development' so don't try to twist it. This is about a guy who isn't physically capable.

Most players that become great players you see flashes their rookie year.

if the pats were going to draft him in the second you know it was a risk worth taking. If they had drafted him everyone in the media and most fans would be saying what a great choice this was its dallas so its not so good according to them.

I wonder how dallas would know the pats are going to draft him there?? cheating ?? lol
and it could be faked so dallas would not take a player they really wanted.
