Do not trade for ET

What difference does it make if a 2nd pick is traded or used if it fills the glaring hole?

Draft picks are just another commodity to be traded or spent

Uh no. Draft picks are the lifeblood of every team b/c they fill holes with cheap contracts. ET can sign with us in the off season for nothing but a contract. Why in the world would you give Seattle a 2nd round pick now?

At this point i feel its too late for Et,we are most likely getting a top 5 pick.We need all the picks we can get to move up if necessary to get a franchise QB.
We're probably headed for 8-8 and the 18th draft pick. :muttley:

We are beyond stupid if we deal a 2nd for ET. This team needs every high draft choice it has. ET will make no difference to our sputtering offense.

How do you know he can't help the offense? He only caught one less pass yesterday than any Cowboys' WRs or RBs - and he was never actually targeted by Dak. Imagine how many he could catch if Dak was actually throwing to him.

I wanted ET up until yesterday's game ended. I still do want to take a shot at him this offseason as a FA signing. But yes, we shouldn't trade for him, now. We have too many holes on offense and a nimrod coach/o-staff. We aren't winning with ET.

Save the pick(s). Sign him this offseason if he wants to play here.

Ouch!

The difference is that the team has proven it is beyond his help so don’t give up the picks. Let’s say you have an average car that gets you around just fine and you are set to possibly inherit a much better, newer car within the next 12 months, would you go out today and buy a new car?

Whether you trade or use a Draft pick the idea is to fill a hole

Trading fro ET fills the hole at FS better than any 2nd round pick for 4 years

ET dominated yesterday and LVE and Collins were blips on the radar

I will take the instant All Pro

Excellent reasoning. Let's trade for, and pay, a guy in his 9th season to play safety because we suck at drafting. Meanwhile, we have a glaring hole at QB leading an offense lacking skill players.

So while trading for ET won't actually lead the team to anything, at least guys can buy some cool "#29 Thomas" Cowboys jerseys.

He’s a ballhawk and is exactly what this defense needs. But it’s not worth it. Getting him just means we go 5-11 with the #1 defense instead of going 5-11 with the #3 defense. We need draft picks and cap space to get this offense to respectable and fast or else we’re going to waste these handful of years of having a good D.

Come on guys, you are smarter than this. we are not 1 or 2 players away. We need all the draft picks for the next HC. Richard, the job is yours. start making the calls for who you want on your staff next year. This trend of "the team of mediocrity" has got to end.

Over reaction....but I agree to no way give a pick at this point

i dont think the so,statistically Dak is the worst QB in the League just above Tyrod Taylor and Bradford and both of whom were benched. He just doesnt have the arm talent to be a starter in the NFL and he is getting worse.

In theory, we would wait. The problem is the car we are set to inherit in the next 12 months is about to get sold.

I am either getting ET or bringing in a WR. At this point I may consider Dez. ET has a knack for being around the ball. His 2 picks yesterday was being around the ball. We could use that considering I am not even sure we have gotten a pick yet this year. Lol

STOP! You're making too much sense for some on this board. This is just going to confuse them.

Have to get a QB before WR, IMO.

We do have zero picks. It seems like the more pressure we put on the QB the fewer interceptions we get. It is very odd.

After watching last week’s game, we do not have the #3 defense. We were abused by a very bad offense.

You're right - traded or spent. In this case, that 2nd round pick may be what is needed to be part of a package to trade up to get a QB. So, will you still be supporting the trade if they spend a 2nd for ET if we're drafting something like 4th or 5th and don't have it to move up to the 2nd to get what is considered a franchise QB?

To me it makes more sense stand pat and see how this season plays out before doing that deal.
