Do some fans not even realize how much this franchise has bottomed out?

The Lions and even Washington has advanced farther than we have. Even the Bills have as well. That's how bad it is... and zero is being done to change that.
As much as the giants have been a dumpster fire over the past several seasons, you can argue that they have been more successful than us winning 2 Super Bowls during our era of ineptitude.

D Law said it perfectly, when he said this organization was never going to win a SB, so he left for greener pastures. He's not wrong, until the day comes when Jerry Jones and his sons start acting like real owners and bring in real a real GM, this organization is dead on arrival............
But he didn’t leave lol. As a matter of fact he said he wanted to sign. Cowboys moved on from him not the other way around.

I seriously barely even care about the team anymore, after almost 30 years of being total garbage. I watch the games but that's it. I don't really follow the goings on anymore.
I find it hard to believe you don’t care but come on a forum about a team you said you don’t care about.

You state the truth.
The attempts by some to regulate how to be a fan and post your opinion on this lack of success is tiresome.

Sometimes my responses to those types have sarcasm in order to lighten my own burden of always being told how a cheery, positive and Pollyanna fanbase will have ANY effect on the team's on field performance.

News Flash: IT WONT.
Past players are now saying the same stuff that a majority of us realistic Zoners have been saying for a while.
You do you brother and fan how you fan.
Better be careful. You’ll get a warning for hurting their little homer boy feelings. The homers can say anything they want but the moment you call them out for their lack of reality you get a warning from the mods.

The last few years seen a lot of comments from some fans making fun of our players who leave in free agency and saying it's only about the money.

This year it's Jourdan Lewis and Tank taking the brunt of the homer comments. They're all about the money because they are going to teams like the Jags and Seahawks.

I guess my question for those people is do you actually realize how bad this team has been since 1997?
  • Almost at bottom of list of total Playoff Wins in NFL.
  • Haven't even come close to sniffing a Super Bowl.
  • Never made it out of the Divisional Round.
  • Long list of bad Head Coach hires.
This is not an expansion team. Why would any player NOT think he had a better chance to win somewhere else?
I don't blame players for leaving,
Even for less money.
We have dysfunctional leadership, who hire weak HCs, and don't have a clue on roster construction.
We may all love the Cowboys because of past glories, but current players see a dumpster fire of an organization.

I know right?
They have been one of the absolute worst run teams for going on a decade plus!
Multiple GMs and Head Coaches.
The Mara family even making the Joneses somehow appear competent as a football ownership family.

But then you see that they did have those 2 runs in '07 and '11 and that still beats 30 years of futility by a long shot.
Freakin' ridiculous.

What I wouldn't give for the most flukey, unlikely and luck filled run of 3 playoff wins...
Ain't even gotta be a SB.
Just a championship game at this point.
That's how far my expectations have shifted.

Can't be that bad, you're still here. Can you tell us why?

They could improve but still won’t make the NFCCG, who cares? . What’s the difference between 2-15 and 7-10? A Higher draft pick for SJ to screw up? The point still remains, three decades and no chances to compete in a SB. Players should leave for more money, and they would have a better chance with 30 other teams every year than they would with the Cowboys.
Three 12 win years in the last 4, and players have always and always will, follow the money. And apparently, YOU CARE...I don't think you'd be wasting your time on this forum, if you didn't.

A lot of players see a team that has won a lot more games than their current team has during their career.

Stockholm Syndrome. I want better for my team. Some hate that we complain about wanting better. They are so used to losing, that they are happy being “good enough”
I won for a living, this is just entertainment for me. Some are so used to crying about something, but have never done anything about it, they are just happy being "miserable enough"

I see we sre knee deep in optimism season. Usually the pom pom frenzy lasts from the draft through pre season. Then reality will quickly set in. Best hope is for an entertaining season. The truth of the matter though is horrendous franchises like the Jets, Raiders and 4 skins have been further in the playoffs than this team since their last real success. I dont expect that to change undrer the current FO.

Especially when the details have gotten lost Lewis and tank never were offered anything they were not wanted here they were allowed to walk this wasn't some protest this wasn't some culture issue where the player refused the contract and walked away because he wanted to win more that's hilarious that that premise is what they're using when there's 300 free agents available almost every year big names leaving every team big names being cut traded even off Super Bowl champion teams look at what's going on with the eagles they've lost quite a few players already they lost a coach and San Francisco seemingly starting over they've lost a lot of players you get Joey bosa being cut DeAndre hopkins in the past have been flat out cut dalvin cook let go.

That's just to name a few I mean this is pretty common players leave but here if we keep players we like our guys we're emotionally invested in our guys we don't know when to allow them to leave they leave too late now it's we don't retain players and when they leave it must be because they wanna win somewhere else and that is can't be farther from the truth these two players left because they were not offered new deals why aren't we talking about Ezekiel Elliott was cut there are other players so far that have been offered money and they might end up somewhere else like Lawson and kendricks..

But in most of these cases so far this year money has not been offered to the players who have left I mean show me the offer that was made to Lewis, tank, edoga or Golston... I don't think the Cowboys tendered any offers to these guys they left because they had no choice. lol

but the narrative that started this thread is the Cowboys bottomed out and that's why we lost these players well apparently a whole lot of teams must be buying him out because free agency is a real thing and so is trades happens every year but Cowboys are somehow different...

And I don't think any of us are arguing over the fact that we have had a lot of playoff failures we haven't been doing NSU championship game in a really long time and we haven't been into a Super Bowl in a really long time that is not the reason these players are not here,

the NFL is full of players making big money that are on teams that are not winning anything, some far worse than the Dallas Cowboys situation...
