Do some fans not even realize how much this franchise has bottomed out?

So it's ok to wish disgruntled players to leave and berate the team, but it's not ok for 30 years of no playoff success? Which is it? If you truly are upset for the lack of playoff success, you should be wanting to keep your best players. Not encourage them to leave AND berate the team.

You’re confused. There’s not that many players who’ve left the last two years that I wanted to leave. This year, there are none that left that I wanted gone.

As for guys berating the team. You should get a better perspective, or learn to comprehend better. Tell me what player has breaded the team and what they said that was berating?

I somewhat agree. You bring up a good point. They aren't willing to be bad enough for a long period of time to overhaul this team completely as it should. It's been bad enough to get a new franchise QB on a rookie deal. That's probably a point no one brings up much.

But that being said, there were some ways to properly build this team after a 12 win team.....hell after the 2016 team. And they've not done the right thing once. No team is perfect so I wont' fault them for not having a perfect team but even going back to Romo....what on earth made them think going with Bernadeau and Livings was going to make Romo better? What made them think Zeke and Dowdle would improve the team? Or losing Gilmore and going with Carson a rookie?

This team just handles things completely moronic. And that's what's frustrating.
I stand somewhere in the middle on this,
but I don't think that was where their mindset was there's no way that anything they would've done in the offseason including keeping Gilmore or bringing over Henry.. if you just want to throw that out there as a hypothetical you would never have covered up all these injuries there was no way to come back just like in 2020 and look at San Francisco last year..
sometimes the injuries happen to too many players especially all at the same position when it eats up three positions that are vital to winning, you're not winning no matter how good your offseason was you just can't cover up that many injuries.

A lot of the people that you're talking to, I already have on ignore because they don't see the middle, there's nothing they could have done this last offseason that could have predicted and also covered all those injuries, IMHO it would have been a waste to have Derrick Henry behind that offensive line with this coaching staff and the way they couldn't even figure out how to use the guys we had here let alone wait till it's all over until they go on a little run at the end of the year it's all a mirage.. And I do realize this is speaking in hindsight where we know what happened so we can't really give them a full pass about the inactivity but in the end it would not have helped..

This team was built like a 12 win team ,and almost all of them got hurt, there was far too many injuries at critical areas of the team and not just the starter the backups backups got hurt at defensive end ,at corner, on the offensive line, I mean it was terrible dude.. I can't even think of all the injuries that we had last year it's something similar to but not exactly at The Mavericks are experiencing right now they're blaming the Luka trade which was terrible and I get it it was a bad trade they shouldn't have got rid of him, but if they did they should have got a lot more for him but those injuries started at the beginning of the year and they haven't stopped there's no way The Mavericks even if they would have kept Luka would be doing anything right now ,not with all the injuries that they have..

Sometimes you just have to chalk it up to bad luck and you move on but you're trying to tell me that Gilmore and Henry in your scenario would've got our team in a better situation like we would have made the playoffs with just those two moves that you didn't like?

I would have to disagree with you,
but at the same time I do agree that for whatever reason last year was the most inactive I've ever seen them, and I don't think it was purposeful there's no way they spent the money on lamb and Prescott and then wanted to lose, nobody invest that much money To lose..
they just made some questionable decisions and I and I don't have any answers for it either,
but I don't think it would've helped it would've been nice for the fans to be cheering on Henry but hell Derrick Henry didn't even help the Ravens get better.
I know we could this all day this is how I look at it the man came to a team that the year before went to a championship game and got close to a Super Bowl they fell far short of that with Henry everybody hyped up that move it didn't work the same way with the Christian McCaffrey $19 million / 2 years for $38 million and somehow people thought Christian McCaffrey was going to put the 49ers over the top and he did not they got to the same spot or worse over those two years they did not complete the goal even with those moves..
Which by the way, I don't agree with a lot of what Steven Jones or Jerry says in the public, when they were talking about the eagles a month or so ago, and some of these teams are goanna have to pay the piper and eat that salary cap from all in risk taking, and right now ,I realize the Rams are rebounding maybe a little earlier than people thought,
but they still haven't been back to a championship game and they still haven't been back to a Super Bowl, but it wasn't the eagles right now even though they're losing a lot of good players after the Super bowl,
look at San Francisco their in-salary cap hell, might be the worse than anyone in the league right now,
and they have lost about 30% of their team and they are making questionable trades go look at their trades they're not getting value not in my opinion you think Jerry Jones trades like Amari Cooper for 5th, seems strange, will take a look at what they're doing. I mean they're supposed to have one of the better GM owner and coaching Staffs in the league and they're making some very questionable moves with cuts and trades and waiting on paying players as well or overpaying players like Samuels and then pretty much getting nothing for him...
Yes they made it to a couple of Super Bowls they've been to some championship games and that's great but they are in cap hell and I see these threads about why is Jerry a little too timid about going into cap hill it's because you're right he does not want to break it all the way down to a point because we have been more consistent than those other teams as far as staying consistently in the regular season win percentage staying relative playing on prime time at least winning some divisions getting to the playoffs and I realize that's not enough but I think that's the way they see it they don't want to be bad for the next three to five years while they wait on a new crop of players to get back to that very spot and then hope to get further..

Have you not paid attention?

D-Law and J-Lew just berated the Cowboys as they signed with other teams recently.

Last year, we heard Jayron Kearse, Dorance Armstrong, Tony Pollard, Kelvin Joseph, Justin Rogers and a few others berate the Cowboys as they signed with other teams. Even recently brought back Dante Fowler Jr talked smack about the Cowboys last year when he left to the Commanders.

The year before, it was Dalton Schultz and a few others.

What?? Derrick Henry didn’t help the ravens get better.

It has happened a ton over the years.

And if everyone is saying something............................................................
Absolutely. But why talk smack AFTER they leave to another team? Why didn't they have the decency to approach Jerry when those players were still Cowboys? Also, why so dismissively blurt out their trash to the media?

This franchise is very similar to the Raiders living on very distant glory. Jerry is going down with the ship just like Al did.

You’re confused. There’s not that many players who’ve left the last two years that I wanted to leave. This year, there are none that left that I wanted gone.

This isn't directly at you this is to the person you're having this discussion with that I choose not to have direct contact with I think it's hilarious to think that tank is one of those guys you wanted to keep you're calling him your best player first of all he's not on the field enough his contract his money does not meet his production it happens his time is done here 11 years is long enough,,

but let's expound on that just a little bit if they would have kept him there would have been a very large group which would have been the biggest part of should we keep them or not keep them group that would have used that old narrative ?they like our guys" ,keep guys too long, dont know when to let go etc etc...

No matter what the front office does it's not gonna make everyone happy but I guarantee a large group of us know it was time for Delaware to leave they didn't offer him a contract nor should they have you remember when they redid his contract about 3 years ago and everyone thought it was too high that he was already washed he had something left in him but now you think he's worth that contract Seattle gave to him i say no they made the right decision..

Now on JLEW I would like to keep him but you know what similar situation at some point the money they're being offered and what you think they might do the next three years just might not make sense to the front office and I'll go with them on this for now although I think this was the biggest loss this year because of the injuries in that position makes it a dire need the rest of free agency and in the draft...

The rest of them is you can't keep everyone category you're upset that the you'd be one of the only ones edoga left you'd be one of the only ones, and I'm sorry but golston was definitely taking steps to get better but he's not irreplaceable I liked him but I believe they have plenty of people they've already picked up are already on this staff that are coming back off of injuries are already here that plenty make up for his departure, ie fowler, kneelanfd, turner, williams, and parsosn to name few, we are fine..maybe more to come..

I can see why the biggest name here everyone's gonna cry about is Rico you know it took Rico four years just to develop and over those four years three of those years were sad he had two touchdowns and maybe 400 yards in three years and yes he finally broke the 1000 yard mark he started looking pretty good but he only had two touchdowns last year one in the run and one in the past that he bobbled the catch which should have been an easy clean catch and everybody thinks that's not replaceable what happened to the other narrative that running backs like him are a dime a dozen you just handed the ball enough and they can get 1000 yards and 17 games...

I also like some of these players we lost but outside of Lewis and that's only because of how short we are at that position is the only one that i felt like maybe we should have held on to. But given the fact that they are in that situation they had to think about this pretty hard and they don't believe that what he has left in the tank is worth $10 million a year and I'm gonna trust the professionals and I get it we'll see time will tell but they kept

What?? Derrick Henry didn’t help the ravens get better.
Absolutely not it may look like that on paper but they didn't get back to the championship game that means they finished worse than the year before when they didn't have him I'm sorry you can look at it how you want this is about big wins this about playoff wins this is about making your mark and they mark..

I know it's hard to comprehend but when I see teams pick up a player like that the only way it makes sense if you get further than you did before you picked up the player I'm sorry but I'm looking at it yes very simply it's about big wins they had bigger wins the year before without him it's a fact they've also had super bowls in years past without him..

You wanna know who made a difference one player that I can think of saquon Barkley that's it all the moves that were made in the all seasons and all the ones that trade deadline that the Cowboys were supposed to pick up none of them made that kind of difference that people around here said that it would....

I get where you think your mindset is but that's not where mine is I look at what that team did before they added him the expectations was to make them better and I don't care what he looked like on the field during the regular season I don't care if he made some big runs that made him look good to the fan base they missed even getting back to the championship game I'd say he did not make them better... You're gonna have to carry the team further than they were the year before and it would have to be come from you literally he would have had to do something to help them get back to the championship game and win it short of winning the AFC championship game he was not better than what they had the year before because the results are in...

good thing this is on the internet; just how many trees would have died to put this on paper?
Not as many as they used for actual real books, magazines, and all the trash mail I still get my mailbox, I'm uninterested in...

I'd say that that would be the real killer of trees, but if you feel like that was long I feel bad for you man I know maybe your ADHD was kicking in you couldn't get to the end but you could just Passover it next time no need to reply no big deal I speak my mind and I use talk to text and I just let it run....NEXT

The last few years seen a lot of comments from some fans making fun of our players who leave in free agency and saying it's only about the money.

This year it's Jourdan Lewis and Tank taking the brunt of the homer comments. They're all about the money because they are going to teams like the Jags and Seahawks.

I guess my question for those people is do you actually realize how bad this team has been since 1997?
  • Almost at bottom of list of total Playoff Wins in NFL.
  • Haven't even come close to sniffing a Super Bowl.
  • Never made it out of the Divisional Round.
  • Long list of bad Head Coach hires.
This is not an expansion team. Why would any player NOT think he had a better chance to win somewhere else?
Ive been supporting this team all my life.
Not any more! Jerry doesn't care and the fans are so brain washed into drinking his Kool aid. Nothing will turn a franchise around quicker than a QB. No pedigree since Aikman!!!
You guys are going to watch first hand how Jaylen Daniels turns the Commanders into a SB team.

The Cowboys haven’t been nearly as bad since 97 as some fans make them out to be. Someone posted the Cowboys have been the worst organization in the entire league over the past 30 years. Fans act like the Cowboys have been in the dumpster bringing up the rear in the NFC East practically ever year. The team has been competitive most years they just haven’t had playoff success. We’ve won the NFC East 6 times since 97 and have had 2 number one seeded teams. We’ve had some very successful regular seasons but it hasn’t gone well in the playoffs. Yes, it’s been very disappointing and frustrating not having won a divisional round game or reached a SB in almost 30 years but there’s teams that have had it much worse than the Cowboys over that period.
Some people can't make a post without making things black and white, or an extreme comment, like "the worst organization in the league the last 30 years". Just like "Dak sucks". They can't just say Dallas has been poor the last 30 years, or Dak's below average, etc. Limited ability to express things I guess...

Fast-forward 10 months for a quote

Brother, you don't want to have direct contact with me? What's going on @blueblood70 ? What did I do or say wrong?

Go ahead and buy him out upon team football! Waiting on earned respect for the real achievements. You keeping Parsons, owner?
You often post gibberish. This is another example. What does your rambling here have to do with my post?

Jerry is old. He likely doesn't have many years left. He's staring at a team that is counting on an aging QB who has had injury problems the last few years. Next year presents his likely last opportunity to make a SB run for some time IMO. After 2025, Dak is one year older and with no future QB on the roster or on the horizon, it could get quite tough in Dallas.

Oh so getting to the Championship game is a sign of success?

The Cowboys haven’t been nearly as bad since 97 as some fans make them out to be. Someone posted the Cowboys have been the worst organization in the entire league over the past 30 years. Fans act like the Cowboys have been in the dumpster bringing up the rear in the NFC East practically ever year. The team has been competitive most years they just haven’t had playoff success. We’ve won the NFC East 6 times since 97 and have had 2 number one seeded teams. We’ve had some very successful regular seasons but it hasn’t gone well in the playoffs. Yes, it’s been very disappointing and frustrating not having won a divisional round game or reached a SB in almost 30 years but there’s teams that have had it much worse than the Cowboys over that period
Other teams' failures are not my concern.
