Do some fans not even realize how much this franchise has bottomed out?

I agree! If anything, the Cowboys deserve criticism for holding onto hope for too long and not allowing for a proper rebuild to happen. Looking back, it's actually a wonder that they've had the regular success they've had. Maybe a poor NFC East for so many years (until last season, of course) had something to do with inflated regular season numbers, I don't know.

But good trying to convince some of the CZ members on here on that!!
Correct. We are top 5 bottom team. GM Jethro is still working on it.

Four out of 32 is many? And three of them other teams which is not many

YOU JUST GOT OWNED
You claimed the Texans are the only team that hasn’t made it to a Conference championship game. The discussion is about the last 30 years. You were wrong! Take the L and move on.
there is only one team that has not made it to a Conference Championship game.
The Houston Texans

you claim many.

You lose again

I didn’t even have to look it up to know there was more than one team other than the Cowboys that hasn’t made it to a Conference championship game the past 30 years. You’re so lost you can’t even follow along on what this topic is about. Try getting a clue so you don’t keep getting ragdolled.

The goal of every season is to win it all.
Making the playoffs is the default prerequisite, not an accomplishment
Making the playoffs is a goal and an accomplishment, especially winning your division. Whether you want to admit it or not it’s a feather in your cap. It improves your seeding, giving you a home playoff game which increases your chances in postseason. It’s certainly not the ultimate goal but it’s goal.

The last few years seen a lot of comments from some fans making fun of our players who leave in free agency and saying it's only about the money.

This year it's Jourdan Lewis and Tank taking the brunt of the homer comments. They're all about the money because they are going to teams like the Jags and Seahawks.

I guess my question for those people is do you actually realize how bad this team has been since 1997?
  • Almost at bottom of list of total Playoff Wins in NFL.
  • Haven't even come close to sniffing a Super Bowl.
  • Never made it out of the Divisional Round.
  • Long list of bad Head Coach hires.
This is not an expansion team. Why would any player NOT think he had a better chance to win somewhere else?
Well, if Dallas had been willing to pay them top money, there's little doubt they would have stayed. Money talks more than NFL success does.

Players understand it's a business and there are a lot of players in their careers that don't get Super Bowl success.

Let's say your career last 10 years. If you didn't play the past 10 years for the Eagles, Chiefs, 49ers, Bengals, Rams, Bucs, Patriots, Falcons, Broncos or Panthers, you didn't reach a Super Bowl in your career. That's 10 out of 32 teams, including the two teams the players you mentioned have joined.

Also, since 2010, the Dallas Cowboys have made the playoffs nine times. That's tied with Philadelphia for seventh in the league.

I'm not defending this team's playoff failures, just trying to look at it from a player standpoint. I don't think they view it like a fan does. It doesn't mean they don't get frustrated when they've been here a long time and haven't reached a Super Bowl, but if they get paid well, then they'll believe whatever team they are on has a chance.

A lot of fans want the team blown up and start from scratch. They want to tank for a year or two with high picks. I don’t see that as a proper rebuild, I want to stay competitive while adding pieces. You don’t have to completely dismantle your team and start over. One big problem continues to be not adding impact players in free agency. Adding low tier free agents isn’t the way to go but we continue on that path. We’ve lost two very solid players and have added nothing of significance so far.

I think in the Cowboys case, they do need to start over, starting with a new GM who hires the coach. For the last 30 years, it's been Jerry year after year believing the Cowboys are SB contenders and forcing his new hires to try and make these delusions work. But I get what you're saying. Even Jimmy Johnson didn't go wholesale, he kept quite a few Landry pieces.

Look I just look at the other teams that have had more recent playoff success. They've all have had the benefit of a down period and a chance to retool with higher draft picks. And while you are loading up with higher potential talent, then you have the salary cap space to be more aggressive in FA and spend more. That's how I see it.

I want our FO blown up.

so what about your claim MANY TEAMS HAVE NOT MADE IT?

losing looks good on you

You got owned for you claim many have not made it.

You do not even know the proper definition of many

you keep trying to prop up Jethro and company

losers loose and you do it well

The Cowboys haven't stunk this bad since the late 80's. How can anyone be looking forward to the coming season with BS at HC and a piecemealed defense that couldn't stop a fly. Trade Parsons and reboot the team.

I was a lot closer than you who repeatedly claimed only the Texans haven’t been to a Conference championship game since the Cowboys last appearance. You’re losing attire was tailor fit. lol

We've been following your blueprint for 30 years. How much longer until you realize it doesn't work?
