Imagine if we traded away our best defender b/c we couldnt afford to keep him?

They traded Wilfork, too?

They've also added a lot of talent over the past 2 years.... Adalius Thomas, Derrick Burgess, and Jerod Mayo, who very quietly had a fantastic rookie season at the LBer position last year.

Assuming Brady is healthy, they are a very scary team. Anyone who says otherwise is just in denial.

Why? Do we play them this year? Are they on our regular season schedule? Uh....no. I'll get scared of them if we have to meet them in the Super Bowl. Until then, let them dominate the AFC. Until we have to step onto the same field as them, I'll be more scared of the Raiders then the Pats, cause at least we play them.

People always underrate the significance of the head coaching match up between two teams (especially in the playoffs), and unfortunately that is brutally in their favor. As in taking a knife to a gunfight brutal.

the knife won in '07.....

Seymour, Harrison, Vrabel, Bruschi, Hobbs, Samuel

Green, Wilfork, Warren, Burgess, Thomas, Mayo, Guyton is a really good front seven. I think there defence might be better by the end of the year than it has been in years. They may have made the trade at least in part due to a preference to a 4-3 base.

Harrison, Vrabel, Bruschi??? They're old and retired. What's your point? We don't have Randy and Too Tall anymore either.

That is correct! They piled on 2 garbage time TDs like they were doing on every team that year in retaliation of the Patriot gate scandal.

Garbage time only exists if the game isn't close.

Tell you what.

Ask me this question when and if we play them this year.

Moss can be contained, we've actually had SOME success at it recently

2007 NE@DAL Randy Moss: 6 receptions, 59 yards, 1 TD
2005 DAL@OAK Randy Moss: 4 receptions, 123 yards
2004 DAL@MIN Randy Moss: 4 receptions, 27 yards, 2 TD
2000 MIN@DAL Randy Moss: 7 receptions, 144 yards, 2 TD
1999 DAL@MIN Randy Moss: 6 recpetions, 91 yards, 2 TD
1998 MIN@DAL Randy Moss: 3 receptions, 163 yards, 3 TD

When exactly have we contained him? I guess the last few games look a bit better when compared to the embarrassing first ones, but make no mistake: he's owned us every time. And of course, the 'Boys lost every one of those games.

If Brady gets a few good licks to him or see the ground, this won't even be a question. His shoulder is not the best.

Im talking about the last game. And since then we've changed from Nate Jones and Jauque Reeves and Roy Williams to Gerald Sensabaugh, Mike Jenkins, and Orlando Scandrick...

Considering the Pats have been contenders for the last 7 years and the Cowobys haven't won a playoff game in twic that time, any other answer then "yes" is wrong. Until the day when Brady and Belichick look past it, they will be contenders.

Cheater and all. Belichick is the best coach in football.

Very true.

You may also be surprised that he has a healthy amount of respect for Wade. He considers him one of the best defensive minds in football.

Hate to let an inconvenient truth get in the way of the usual Wade the buffoon puppet bashing.

On paper the pats are still real good, we will see as they say, how Brady recovers from injury and the team adjusts to retirement and defections.

I say regardless this is the last hurrah of the dynasty, 2009 will be the last go at it before age and depth catch up to them in my opinion, but for 2009 they are on paper one of the three best teams in football.
