The fans on this board aren't the team. and it doesn't make sense to condemn the team because you don't like what fans say about a player. But here it is a few days later and Dez has actually been cut now, so go ahead and start in on the team if you think it was the wrong choice

It makes sense to condemn the team when they have clearly been planting these stories to the press the last few months. The media is setting this narrative that drives these fans. None of this is just some weird coincidence. The leaks, the speculation, the unnamed sources all came from the organization. Their propaganda campaign against Dez clearly worked. This subsection of the fans shows this.

So I appreciate your advice telling me what makes sense and how I can only comment now on the actual decision. Unfortunately the way this entire thing was handled from the end of last season until today is something that worth condemnations.

I'm sure some were leaks, some probably intentional, some insider and some speculation. That doesn't just happen with the Cowboys. And I don]t think there was really the ongoing
"campaign" you imagine either - a story like that just needs one spark to take on its own life, especially in the offseason when the media is desperate for something to write about,

The biggest reality is the press knew all on their own, as did the fans, that Dez wasn't producing to the level of his contract, and that could put Dez at risk. so they asked questions. When asked about it, the team naturally wasn't going to lie and commit to keeping Dez come hell or high water. That's mainly what fueled the media.
