Sam Hurd is a quieter Keyshawn. Big kid who can catch the ball, block downfield, etc. But no real speed and no real ability to separate from good defenders. Austin, IF he keeps it up, becomes our #2 WR. Now I think Witten will still be TR's #2 guy, but as regards WRs then it would be Austin. Crayton goes back to being a very good #3, instead of a mediocre #2.

maybe we could trade for Antonio Bryant.

the depth at WR is fine... Sam Hurd will step up

I wish.seriously.People here hate him but remember it was BP who got him thrown off the team.I for one loved the fact someone threw a towel in Pigs face he deserves it.AB is extrememly talented and will eventually be a star WR.

I didn't like our WR depth to begin with and was never in love with the idea of Miles Austin as our #2.
Joe Horn?

In my view if Dallas brings in another WR it will be once teams reduce their rosters. I don't see Dallas trading away picks to bring in a WR. Guys like Boldin and Williams will just cost way to much as both teams Arz and Det will be looking for at the very least 2 1st rd picks.

How many years in an eventually?

This is his 7th year in the NFL and his 4th team. I can't recall any WR in NFL History who took that long to get it.

I am no fan of Parcells, but he wasn't on the Browns, 49ers, or Buccaneers. I'll be shocked if he accomplishes anything in Tampa when it matters.

We still don't have official word on the severity of Austin's knee.

With our new Felix Jones factor, it's going to change alot of defensive game planning. This I think is going to make things easier on our young WRs. I expect we will be keeping 6 WRs.

Two games to go, may the best men (WRs) win.

Per Todd Archer's blog, 4 to 6 weeks.

Hostile, this sounds more like speculation to me. From another thread:

Miles Austin's stellar training camp and preseason has come to an end because of a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee suffered Saturday, and it's unlikely he will be able to play in the regular-season opener Sept. 7 at Cleveland.
Generally speaking, MCL tears (anytime you hear a sprain that means something is torn, by the way) take 4-6 weeks to heal depending on the severity.
So what happens now?

Check out those QBs he had for any team he played with.

NO.

I understand Austin was playing better than Hurd, but why would you choose to bring one in now. Because your 4th WR (last year anyway) got injured. That really does not make any sense at all to me.

Your possiblt 3rd WR may be out 2 games and you bring someone in.

BY the way - Amendola makes the team.

.

youd really rather Amendola over like a Joe Horn? Ill take Horn as the 4th WR now, and then 5th/vet leader/ insurance after Miles gets back

I know Amendola probably wont last on the PS, but you dont want to go project crazy w/ this team

I think we're jumping the gun here. I'm sure the kid will heal up just fine and he'll be ready by the opener, maybe the second game at the latest. He's shown that he can contribute this year so why would you bring in a guy now knowing that he's likely going to get cut, or not play much, once Austin returns?
