To me this was a HUGE blow.

I see Overshown as a big playmaker in the middle of the field that we really needed at the LBer position. An aggressive guy that can shoot the gaps and cover. By the 2nd half of the year I think he would have had a substantial role.

it’s a fair question. I could see them bringing in a vet FA or a cut after roster trim downs for an insurance policy.

I do think Quinn is capable of working with the LB’s they currently have. But if LVE or Clark go down for any period of time things could get hairy.

Kid was on a fast track to be a draft day gem for Q, but it's not like this roster wasn't already deep there.
Horrible what happened to the rook, but we are not in dire str8s because of this unfortunate injury.

Time for Cox to step up and be the guy we thought he could when we drafted him. Before the injury.

DQ likes to use safeties like Kearse as linebacker. So they could just opt to keep an extra safety.

Functionally that would make their LBs look like this:

LVE
Clark
Kearse
Cox
Harper

Remember nickel is most common defense, and dime packages are almost as common as 4-3. Usually its just two linebackers on field.

I don’t think so. Overshown could’ve worked himself into a big role at some point this season but he was not gonna be a starter to start the season

With all cuts coming at once after the preseason games all teams will be scouring the list. I wouldn't do anything until the cuts happen. See who is out there.

My AFC team is the Chargers so I can clarify:

Mack might need to be traded or cut next offseason due to his contract and Chargers cap situation. Very very unlikely before then.
