We'll eat a 10.8 mil cap hit, saving 4.7mil to trade him off.

He allowed zero sacks this past year. Fleming to me struggled at LT.

I pass, easily. Especially since I can't see a team trading a first for him.

Keep him, develop a LT behind him and then in 1-2 years hope you have a good enough player behind him that could play LT at a good enough level before moving on.

Smith's contract is structured such that he has another year or 2 before he can be let go. All we can do is hope he can get healthy again and have a good backup if he can't. When he can play, he is still good, but not the dominant beast he once was.

Cam Fleming is not the answer as a starter.

Because of a few offsides penalties, I think some here have undervalued what Tyron did this year.
He was very good.

But, it'd d be hard to get a 1st due to his injury history and contract anyway

We had a 2019 first round draft pick and elected to take a WR with it. It was a find decision and will roll later. That decision already means borrowing against our future cap, trading Tyron would just make that worse.

I think Tyron's demise is over exaggerated. Did he have a few bad moments this season? Sure, but so has every other left tackle in the league. Smith at 80% is still better than most left tackles in the league.

I say we instead trade Dak, our second round pick, Irving and a carton of Marlboro to the Giants for their 1st round pick.

Understandable for sure ...I'm not necessarily upset w the amari move ...I'm fine with it ...nor am I obsessed with trying to replenish the first per say...just spitballing on trying to get ahead of the curve on a aging player with a back issue who is still is a top rated player at a position of need across the league which holds trade value ...that's all no more no less
