Do We Ever Make Adjustments on Offense?

Mainly regarding Dez and our best options? All these excuses of Dez was doubled the whole game and they took him away. Why can we not put Dez in motion, put him in the slot, etc. It's so frustrating that we never adjust to what the opposing defense does. We just concede and tip our caps for them designing a defense to stop our best player.

It's like we have one gameplan the whole week and just pray they don't take it away. And if they do, we are screwed. If a team blitzes us, we never adjust and start making them pay. Where is the coaching on this team? Football is supposed to be a back and forth chess match. If you come out blitzing, well here is what we are going to do now. Then the defense adjusts and the offense adjusts again and so on. We just keep running the same stale offense the whole game.

Agreed. I have stood behind Garrett, but Im done. His offense isnt up to par. Its time to move on from Garrett after the season.

Yes, having Romo force it in there has worked so well in the past. You cant have it both ways.

Doubt it happens. Even with the Dallas curse there is no way this team doesnt make the playoffs. That will win him another year atleast. Even more after the Cowboys win a playoff game, which they probably will.

Some fans will tell you Dez doesn't know the entire route tree or is too stupid. I think it's complete BS. It will always come back to the coaching staff.

Yeah I'm getting tired of hearing this. I think it's a built in excuse because our coach doesn't have a clue how to put his players in the best position to win,

They just don't have the bodies at the guard position to control the line of scrimmage. Now, without Waters, we are in a bad way I think. When your O line is getting destroyed at the point of attack it is hard to adjust for that, other than some play action which when your running game is not working doesn't work either. Fredrick is green and having Waters inside helped him. Berny is a serious liability run or pass. A glaring hole in our line. Maybe they will move Free inside and bring in Parnell?

I would like to see the end around calls stop. They might get some yardage but it doesn't seem like they set them up very well. I would like to see some screens - let the quick upfield movement of the d line against them. Wish we were better at it.

I would not be so sure about that man. We got really lucky the Giants beat the Eagles for us and the Broncos finally woke up in the 2nd half. This is far from over. And now with Waters done for the year, our line is going to be much worse in the interior. We had our chance to almost ice this division on Sunday and could not do it.

I'm not so sure it's lack of adjustments being made but lack of the RIGHT adjustments.

yeah. I know how much you like to bash this team but the Cowboys are far better than every team in the NFC-E.

The Commanders and eagles are both 1 behind in the L column. If this team was so much better they would be 6-2 right now (at worst) running away with the division.

Lets be honest. Even the absolute Cowboy haters (say 75% of zone members) will even admit this team is far and away the best team in this crap division. Seriously 7-9 will probably win it. The Cowboys will go atleast 9-7 if not better. Ill take a ban bet with anyone who feels so sure that it wont happen.

Yes, but does that mean the team is making progress? If the only positive we can take from the season is the Cowboys win 8 games by default and go the playoffs because the rest of the division is so wretched, I'm not sure any positives can be drawn from that.

Im aware of what the standings are and that this team should be 7-1 or 6-2.
Id say our schedule is probably one of the easiest of the others teams.

Far and away huh? We are only 1 up on the Eagles. 2 up on the Giants. Things change fast in this league. People said the same in 2006. When it looked like we had the East wrapped up and were trying for a #1 or #2 spot. Then get killed by the Saints on SNF and this season tanks and we have to slip in with a wild card.

Nothing is certain in this league. Especially with this defense we have and all the injuries piling up.

The thing we do have going for us is we have swept the first leg of the East games. But we still have Skins and Giants on the road? Do you think those will be easy? Eli will shred this defense again. Just a matter of if we can get turnovers like the first game.

Im not trying to blow sunshine up anyone butt. This team has shot itself in the foot like no other team. Personally Ive seen some improvments from last year. Id assume that everyone has. Do you not?

This team makes absolutely no adjustments. JG just lets himself off the hook by saying "we need to execute better"

Exactly. It's a process. We will have to get better. Execute better. Etc.

Barf.

When will we get better and learn from anything? It's been almost 3 seasons with Garrett and we are exactly .500.

On defense, I have't seen any tangible overall improvements -- although I've seen particular players become better.

After the Denver game I thought the offense turned the corner, but it's starting to look like the exception not the rule.

I DO think Romo is playing very well overall -- plenty good enough to win more than 50% of the Cowboys game.

So in summary -- it's spotty. I see specific players playing awesome (Dez, Lee, Romo (to an extent), Tyron, Free, etc however I'm uncertain at this point if that weights the scale in favor off players who are either injured or underperforming.

Sorry I am wish washy. o_O
