Do we go after ET?

I don't know, but he's been getting beat a lot the last few games.
He had the one bad game against Evans that I remember. He's given up 2 TDs this year and only Evans broke 100 yards against him.

Byron has trouble covering on anything but deep routes. He just doesn't turn well enough.
Not disagreeing, but Byron made the pro bowl without a pro bowl free safety having his back. If anything, ET would make him better. I'd be down with seeing him thrive in year 2 at CB.

Yes we go after ET. The fact he wants to play here badly, and we need the position filled. By getting ET it would help fill a void and allow us to use our draft picks on another need. Our 2nd round pick could be used for a TE which we badly need + DL since last night showed we couldn't get to the QB. ET would help give our DL more time, and getting more DL will help us get there more faster more consistency.
We could have every lockdown Corner that ever played rotate them in and out with still not help this defensive line I would say that need is greater then safety at this point but that's arguable

When Jones stumbled this year it may be to the fact that he was doing too much are trying to do too much worrying about what was behind him I'll buy into that a little

I hope so. He is a playmaker, will add veteran leadership, he has championship pedigree, familiarity with the soon to be DC and he plays a position that has been a hole for years.

Find a way to get ET29 and Xavier Woods on the field at the same time. Add some real talent at both DT spots thru the draft and the defense will be even better.

We may get a discount because he wants to come here plus the injury may drop has overall value a bit. Anyone know about how he's progressing?
We better. he wants to be here. We need a FS. ET is very good. We have the cap space. Its a no brainer

Yes, add ET and let Jones walk. Don't pay Byron like he's anything but adequate at corner.
He has a 5th year option picked up already. And reasonable at 6m because it was based on playing safety. No reason he isn't back next year. That and we have 50m space

ET would bring much needed leadership, attitude, and talent to the defense and in particular, the secondary.

This, this, this.

Jaylon Smith and LVE are on the verge of being special. Byron Jones and Tank are very good but not quite elite. Get these guys a quarterback on defense who can create turnovers. If healthy. Earl is that guy.

Honestly, if I could make the money work, I'd sign Earl Thomas and Landon Collins. Then, I'd sit back and watch this defense become elite.

Our secondary cant create TO's. They do alot of other things well but there is one to redirect an offense of make a QB pay for his mistakes. Awuzie, Lewis, and Woods came into the league with touted ball skills, but it hasnt translated. Adding Thomas might not only add a player with HOF level ball skills, but it may rub off on the younger players.

Yes. Deep into the contract you may ultimately be paying for past production in years 3 or 4. But the development of the younger players would make it worth it

not at ridiculous contract that he might want at his age injury concerns etc etc,, we need safety for sure but not at an over prices contract. they will look at safety upgrades im sure..

I feel three things..

1) We cannot afford him. Wants to be highest paid in football at his position regardless.

2) We need to get Tank signed first to a long-term deal. That won't come cheap.

3) Amari has a big pay increase coming on his deal in 2019 and he is unsigned in 2020 I believe. So they are going to have to have a big abicuous to run the numbers.

My must do list.

No Thomas pipe dreams.

I wish but seems remote unless something unexpected occurs like a trade or something.
