Do we have a good team, or just good players?

All around the fan blog, we hear this team is great, on the media outlets the same is said. Minus Jerry and Stephen what they do or don't do, let's focus on the players themselves.


Do we have a good team, or have we just assembled a roster full of players. Let's discuss, once again let's leave Jerry and Stephen out of it, and not bash one particular player!! Please give your thoughts.

Defensively our first priority is to stop the pass. Our second priority is to stop the pass. An after thought is to slow down the run game.

Offensively our first priority is to throw the ball. End of 22 season we announced we were going to fix our run game. Then we did absolutely nothing to fix our run game.

Coaching is the problem.

Doesnt seem like our coaches ever have a good game plan in the playoffs.

Doesnt help that we had a trash run game...but it seems like all these other games I watch the wr gets open but our team cant get ours open. Thats coaching...not players.

I guess you can fault Quinn for the two injuries at LB and having undersized flex personnel on his defenses...but our defense played fast and hit hard. It wasnt for lack of effort. Our defense got exposed to the run game around week 11 or 12 and we couldnt fix it because of coaching or personnel size issues. But playing hard and hitting hard was not a problem for our defense. We usually swarmed and hit hard.

I think the team, players wise, was decent. I think the post season coaching is what is hurting the Dallas Cowboys.

yes and the media ignores this, jerry says mm and his gang are great, so they are back this year except the ones that left for a better job.

Im going to go with good players.
They dont play or think like a team except occasionally.
To make those guys into a good team is on the HC and his staff.
So what they have been lacking is good coaches, but jerry thinks they are A OK.

Could have got BB, but in jerrys mind who needs that loser !
Jones boys looked at the HC pay which comes out of THEIR pocket, not the cap!
BB 20 million and on top of that they would have had to pay mm to so 26 mil for the 1st year.
MM 6 mil
If they plan on switching to zimmer he would be in 5 mil range too. x5 yrs=25 million
BB x5 yrs = 100 million !

So the Jones boys didnt have to see much more, lol they didnt even talk to BB as they didnt want to spend their $ on a HC !
Who needs a good HC anyway? with a jones built team any HC can win a SB cant they??

Russell Wilson does not win a super bowl w/o Marshawn Lynch and a very deep and talented DLine. Their DLine reminded me of the Cowboys super bowl winners where their backups would've started for most teams.

The good players are continuously sabotaged by lack of good players around them. Our D can only stop certain types of teams.

a lotttttttttttt of us fell for it too, the smart fans knew we had to see it before we believed it. You're paying a guy a boat load of money NOT to pass the ball, not in Dallas that doesn't work! lol. Yes on defense, stop the pass, I might add next RUSH the passer, almost get to the passer

They are a team with some good players. And some decent coaching. Discipline being the biggest concern.

But that have not come together to be a good team, or more like a great team. And that is a combination of several things.

So true. We have a roster of good players who don’t play as a good team. There are worse rosters accomplishing as much or more because they play better as a team. Some of that is on coaching but a good bit is on ownership not allowing for accountability. Failure has become acceptable. I thought seeing Jerry after the playoff loss he’d realized that and would try to fix it. That didn’t happen because he didn’t fire anyone for the failure
