Look at what we've been gifted in upcoming contracts from players we've drafted. Upcoming deals for Dak, Micah, Lamb, Tyler Smith, Bland, Osa just to name a few. Can we realistically afford to keep all of these players. Before it's said YES it's years down the road for some players, but we just have to keep this in the back of our minds. Please give your thoughts

despite how much the cap goes up, it never keeps pace with the salary demands
it is like so called cost of living raises that never keep up with inflation
no matter how hard you try, you will never be able to keep all the players you want to
so you have to make hard choices now and then
the teams like the Ravens and others that are perennial winners have figured that out. The ones that are always challenging for the SB will always be small in numbers.
Arguably the Chiefs are where they are because they are doing the best job of it in the NFL

The real question this team asks is if the players output is congruent to what you are paying him.
Every team deals with that, but where this FO has dropped the ball has been with contract structuring and horrible timing.
Painted themselves into quite a corner this time.

I think our problem is we have a handful of really great players, then there's a drop off to mostly "mediocre" players. We could use some more "good" players!!

We have many talented players but the Cowboys also need good "football" players who provide intangibles that will get you to a championship game and beyond.

The player's union has to do a better job of dividing up their portion of the pie. There are a lot of players in the league and it seems a bulk of the money goes to a few.

It’s the culture in Dallas. Doesn’t matter what the roster looks like. Too many good players. Too many bad players. It all ends in disappointment.

If the team wants to avoid having a top heavy roster with little depth, they must be willing to trade a top player or two for younger cheaper draft picks. The salary cap is real.

No, but you’re handling the contract rotation incorrectly. Dak’s contract really should have been addressed last year, you would have opened up a ton of money this year. CeeDee could have been extended last year. Micah can be this year but with those two now it’s unlikely, so now his deal will likely get pushed to next year when you also have to extend Tyler Smith, Daron Bland, and Jake Ferguson.

Do Dak last year, Micah and CeeDee this year, Smith and Bland next year. You can get into the cadence where the money is available to do all of them, but what you’re doing now is just log jamming. Theres no way all these contracts will come out in Dallas’ benefit if you keep pushing them back like this

I'd pose the question: "Are these players really as good as we think"? As fans of this particular team, we tend to be more immersed (blinders) in it's particulars, it's the same with other team's fans as well. We see "our" players and dream of the potential talent, but in reality there is very, very little that separates one pro athlete from another, it's mostly all crop with just a little cream. Other than a few outliers like a Brady or Mahomes, it's really the system, coaching and team culture that make one team stand out from another.
