Do we miss his play making ability on Defense? Not Saying our record would be any different but it seemed Bruce always came up with a big INT especially in the red zones and our defense is getting zero turnovers. I think his absence has been over looked.

He did make quite a few plays, ones that are not being made now. Don't know if that was due to his contract being up though.

I watched the entire Skins game and never saw him once. Not sure if he's hurt or what.

Sometimes speed and athleticism will run you into some big plays, even if overall the player is deemed as inconsistent. So yes, we do miss Carter in that sense.

No we don't miss him.. we have 2 better players in Mcclain and Lee. Our defense wasn't the problem. Special teams and horrid qb play is the problem.

He's buried on their depth chart. I think he's basically on special teams, he certainly is not playing a key role on their defense.

He showed up once every four games. So the answer is, for what he is making, no.

I miss Bruce Carter's speed at the position. Who's playing it right now, Hitchens? Carter had like 5 picks last year, that would've been a nice asset to keep him this year. But Tampa's probably paying him more than we can afford I guess.

only the people who thought he was the "next best " thing. god that was painful to sift through.

I was hoping we'd go into this season with either a combination of Durant, Sean Lee and McClain or Carter, Sean Lee and McClain with Hitchens playing the depth role. He was the one guy I didn't want to see go until I saw his contract. So I understand it. But the answer is......I don't think we're missing much there. He was a playmaker here and you can never have enough playmakers.

But we still have McClain and Lee there and those guys are expected to make plays consistently.

This is what I pointed out during the offseason as a very big concern. I went back during the summer and watched our games from last season and it seems like a lot of the people making game changing plays for us are gone. That's not to say we should have overpaid for any of them, but when you collectively lose a lot of players who made multiple game changing plays throughout the season, you need their replacements to compensate and that hasn't happened.

Carter was bigtime for us last year.

It doesn't matter though.

No Romo no win.

Carter had 5 interceptions (top for NFL LBs), a sack, and 8 passes defensed.

Whatever one may think about Carter -- he made game changing plays on defense last season.

Through 6 games, the Cowboys are dead last in the NFL with a grand total of 3 forced turn-overs so far.

I don't think it was a mistake letting Carter go, however, they needed to make up for Carter's production.

We don't miss his contract. He didn't make $20 million worth of plays.

When a player is here they are not good enough and many would belittle his play or talk about how he is not showing up (fair or not) and was ready for the team to move on from him instead of making a mistake of keeping him for the money.

Once they move on....We are missing said player and his production. Now to be fair this normally happens only after they have finally made a play for another team and not while they are riding the bench for the other team.

Either way...it was the start of a Cowboys Forum term called Rueage (I take credit for it although other haters would argue otherwise because that is what haters do. :D).

It's the Cowboys way.

I think we miss Darren Woodson and Todd Bowles.

Of course, we've missed Woodson since 2004 and it hasn't crossed our minds to try and replace him.
