Do we still have the rights to Romo

So Ryan Tannehill just went down in Miami, if this is a serious injury similar to Bridgewater, would we be able to get some compensation if the Dolphins pulled a desperation move similar to the Vikings last year? The only question may be are the Dolphins close enough for Romo to want to come back.

While visiting CBS this summer, one of the guides told our group that Romo hasn't signed his retirement papers, which means he could possibly step away from the booth if the right situation presents itself. And, apparently, CBS is okay with this.

Romo is not coming back to the NFL as a player.

He has the lead analysts job on CBS. He is even going to get to work some of their Golf Broadcasts which he probably would have done for free considering his love of Golf.

Gruden makes 6.5M per.

Romo can make several miliiion per for 20 years.

He would be risking his long term health to play again, and the risk would be even higher if he came back without going though off-season training.

He quit playing golf the past few years, but he started playing again as soon as he decided he was not longer playing football. He would not want to give up playing golf again.

I have learned painfully over the years to be very wary when saying never.

wrong. If Dak were to go down in say the first 6 games or so I think it would happen. After that probably not.
If that happens the season's lost. No way Tony would be in football shape coming in mid season. And even if he came in for training camp the chances he stays healthy all season is slim at best. I don't think it would happen at all but I don't think he would even try it unless it happens in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah he's a free agent and if he wasn't.....it probably wouldn't matter. I'd like to think Romo had a shot at playing for a team this year and he opted to go to the booth. He seems to have let the NFL go and fans probably should do the same when it comes to Romo playing again.

you are mistaking what you want to see versus what is possible. Football shape for a QB is a lot different then virtually any other position.
