That said, this is an entirely different feel than what we had last year in December.

Last year at this time our run game was completely gone and the cover 2 was our daddy.

This year the offense is coming on, run game is strong and the defense is the best we've fielded in a long time.

I don't trust this team's, and organization's, ability to handle success and focus on the task at hand. Penalties are still an issue, and the run defense is a concern. The types of teams that they stand to face in the playoffs (49ers, Eagles) have strengths that line up well against where the Cowboys are weak. Truthfully, the potential to be on the road for 2 of the 3 games leading to a Super Bowl berth may be the best thing for them, but I am left with hoping for the best and expecting the worst.

There are no guarantees in post season for any team. Cowboys will have to go out and earn it like anyone else. Football unlike all other pro sports you get 1 shot, no series you get 1 shot to win and move on.

Simple answer: No.

Longer answer: maybe. NFL, from a “great team” perspective is way down. This isn’t 30-40 years ago, where 2-3 dominant teams roamed the NFL landscape. Hell, this isn’t 10-12 years ago either. The Eagles, Chiefs, Bills? Are the Cowboys far off from that? Maybe at qb, but the rest of this team might be better around the qb - see defense and run game- than they have been in a long time.

in a lot of respects, the biggest hurdle might be getting that first W in the playoffs. This franchise, and this core group hasn’t tasted recent playoff success. I think a playoff win this season, could more than ever, jump start a deep run (at least conf title game appearance).

Maybe because this is not the same team that has played over the last 3 decades. I look at all 3 phases of offense, defense and special team this is a pretty strong team.

I say no only for one reason. We won't win the division which means were most likely on the road for all playoff games. We have enough trouble winning at home let alone hostile environments in the playoffs.

This is another prove it year for the Cowboys. I think no matter what happens with the NFC East, the Cowboys will play Tampa. It is gonna be tough to beat them and the referees.
