yeah i get pumped too watch the Commanders, Giants, or Eagles lose. Other games I get bored real quick, although i do get bored watching Giants games sometimes because i don't really hate them like I hate the Skins and Eagles

I actually enjoy watching games like the Chargers versus the Jets. When I watch Cowboys games it takes a lot out of me. I have enough emotion riding on it that I tend to get really frustrated a lot of the time, even if we win. When I'm watching a game where I don't care what the outcome is I can relax easier and just enjoy the game.

I finally got to the point where I could watch the Cowboy games like that and I enjoy them more. I had been trying to get there since SB5 and finally got there in the mid-90s when Jerry's evil twin, Jethro, screwed up the team that Jimma built. The only way I could watch this team for almost 10 years was to detatch myself from jerry's team and not care much if they won or lost. I love that I don't go crazy during games anymore.

Hello again, all.

I start this thread, because I came to a realization a little while ago. I am a Washington Commanders fan, and I love watching the Dallas Cowboys play.

In your own time you will be comfortable enough in your own skin to admit what you relly are....a Cowboys fan.

Don't let anyone rush you.

You are what you are...........not that there's anything wrong with that.

I watch them too. If there is a Eagles, Giants, or Skins game on I will watch it (not so much last year with the Eagles since they would most likely lose, and even if they won they were basically eliminated from playoffs). I think I enjoy watching the Skins more too. I always like to see them lose =P

Well... in the game of football you need to good and lucky and in the right place at the rightime...

so.....

I watch the Cowboys as they get better
I watch the other NFC EAST teams because you need every break(other NFC East teams losing) you can get in the NFL

When the ball bounces your way - you gotta run with it.

I enjoy watching them lose but that's about it.

But if Dallas isn't playing in that time slot and one of our NFC East rivals are playing the only way I'll watch it if there's no other good games on or I'm bored.

I'll sit there and yell for whatever team is playing our NFC East rivals. In the case where two NFC East teams are playing each other I yell for the one with the worse record.

I don't necesarily root against a team just because they are in the NFCE. If a last place Skins or Giants team is playing a first place team in another division, I will root for the Skins or Giants. If it looks like another team in the division is threatening to move ahead of my Cowboys now, thats another story.

It really depends on the situation. But I will never hope the Eagles win.

Very well put...hehehe

Hello again, all.

Generally speaking, when I'm watching football, I really have a preference as to who wins, unless (obviously) if it's the Commanders game. However, when the Cowboys, Giants, or Eagles come on television, I feel privledged. I now have a reason to watch the game. I have somebody to root for!

Example, Commanders Bye week. Let's say there is a game on, like San Diego vs The Jets. I don't have any reason to watch this game, other than perhaps Fantasy statistics. I'll root for San Diego, simply because I gravitate towards them more, but the game really has no signifigant impact in my mind. Dallas vs Atlanta or something comes on, however, I now have a team to root for in Atlanta.

Get my point? I enjoy it when Dallas, Philly, and New York play on National Television, because the games have immediate impact on my team of choice.

This was inspired by the announcement that Dallas would be playing Jacksonville on National Television on September 10th. I was wondering if any Dallas fans had the same sentiments upon hearing that the Commanders will also be on National Television, one day afterwards.
yeah, i watch a lot of the Commanders and eagles games, to see them lose. those other games besides the cowboys mean nothing to me

Nope sorry... if I don't have a dog in the fight...I'm just not that interested...

Now if the outcome determines something for Dallas I might watch it...

I haven't watched a SB since 1995 (just highlights)... why?... because... it simply isn't super without the Cowboys in it...really who wants to see a bunch of wanna be's anyway... same goes for the playoffs if it has something to do with Dallas I might watch it otherwise no thank you

I use to be a fan of football... I guess that changed with the addition of FA/and all the stupid stuff that has nothing to do with the game... now I am a fan of the Cowboys... I use to enjoy watching College games but it has become to commercial for me... so if the Cowboys have no stake in the matter I rather go out and fly a kite, ride a bike, take a hike with my 2 sons than watch 2 hours of commercials...

No. No offfense, but those are the 3 teams I least like to watch play. Though on the flipside, they're the 3 teams I most like watching us play.

I'll watch other teams occasionally for specific players but not to see a specific team playing. I just don't like any other teams though once in awhile there is a player everyone needs to see play once or twice.

I'm actually a season ticket holder for the R*dsk*ns, even though I hate them with the fury of a thousand suns!

I only go to a couple games each year, but I want to make sure I can always get tickets for the Cowboys game, and I usually go to the Eagles/Commanders game and maybe one or two others during the year.

I love football, and I love rooting against the R*dsk*ns... going to the games is always fun especially when they lose and I can revel in watching all the dejected R*dsk*n fans file out of the stadium. :D

But yeah, I can always get excited to watch an NFC East game, no matter who's playing... but watching the Commanders and Eagles lose is always a special treat!

I agree with what you are saying. When it is an all-AFC monday night game, I often won't even watch it, or maybe only check in while watching another show. Here are my viewing priorities.

1 Dallas games (can't miss)
2 NFC east division teams (want to see)
3 NFC conference teams (interested)
4 AFC conference teams (take it or leave it)

I like to see the worst teams in the league play against each other for the number 1 pick in the draft. I love the drama. :D

I can't stand Washington, Philly, and New York, but I watch their games more consistently than I do other teams.

Of course there are times when I can't resist beign amazed by players like Tom Brady or LT and Antonio Gates. But while players change over the years, I'll still keep an eye on the NFC East.

Football is on in my house from 11:00am MST to 10:30ish PM MST every Sunday. That includes ESPN between the afternoon and night games.
.

Thats week. My Sunday ritual starts at 10 AM CT lasts usually till 10.30-11.30 PM CT depending which night game it is. I have even convinced my wife that shouldn't questioned :D
It used to even on Saturdays pretty much the same thing, till the little pesky children come along last 5-6 years  :)

That's a good question that is a bit hard to articulate upon.

I really love watching the NFL in general and like to see and inspect on how the game works, the players that influence it, etc. With that and being a Cowboys fan, I have more interest in Eagles, Giants, and Skins game because they are rivals and their success is often times relevant to the success of my team.

The Skins, Giants, and Eagles really don't play exciting football. In fact, the one thing that is aggravating about watching the Skins and Eagles play is that I've seen both teams so often that I can often predict what they are going to do, yet the opposing coaches seem to miss this.

For instance, I know that when the Eagles get into the red zone they'll try to use a shovel pass at least once, yet opposing teams seem completely oblivious to this. With the Skins, it seems like almost any time they need about 3-7 yards, it's going to be a Brunnell bootleg about 90% of the time. Yet, opposing defenses act like it's the first time they've ever used the play.

The Cowboys are the same way. They don't play really exciting football and they love to use the draw play.

In the end I wouldn't say I really enjoy watching the other NFC East teams play. I enjoy football in general and I'm curious about how the game works. And I can just leave it at that.
