So we are hoping to slide in the backdoor at 9-7 even though we started the year 8-3???

Sounds like a plan!!!!

:lmao2:

I'd rather do that than not make it.

Remember, in 2006, Dallas should have won that game up in Seattle. The Cowboys were 9-7.

The Cowboys' defense gave up some plays today. They gave up 20 points, but the defense isn't getting bombed like it did in 2006. The safeties were getting roasted.

There is still some hope, I think.

I'm going down with the ship if it goes down.:)

that's what we said last year. Just beat the Ravens and you're in...

Just beat Philly and you're in.

The feeling that I'm getting is that the Cowboys are going to defeat the Saints, yes I know how silly this sounds. But I just really have that feeling that something is going to go their way Saturday night and they will be back in the discussions. I have a feeling that the Cowboys will squeak a win vs. Washington and have us all really excited, and then the letdown will come the final week of the season.

It's setting itself up for this in my opinion.

I'll never say it's hopeless until you are mathematically eliminated. I still think this team has enough TALENT to put it together and upset NO (partly because they are ripe for the picking) and it only takes one good day for a team to turn a whole season around.

Too much good can still happen, be it lucky breaks or just all three units finally putting it together for me to say that this team is done.

BUT, I think chances aren't great that we turn it around. This team just doesn't seem to have the intestinal fortitude.

Even if we make the playoffs its hard to think us or any other NFCE team can go and win in Minn or NO.

It's not over, but if we lose next week, that's 3 losses in a row entering December. We're also taking for granted that we're going to beat Washington. We barely beat them at home. Then we have to play Philly with possibly a trip to the playoffs and the division in the balance? We saw how that went last year.

Again, it's not over yet, but well...

It's over.

The bottom line is that this team simply isn't good enough to go against the big boys.

This team will get butchered in New Orleans.

I said we'd finish 9-7 at the beginning of the year. It looked like we'd do a lot better when we were 8-3, but sadly now it looks like I was right.

another kick in the 'nads for the 'boys this year will be how our EMBARRASSING performances vs NYG (thanks for that home opener scheduling jerry!) will allow the Giants to back in to the playoffs at 9-7 if not 8-8

we're 1-5 vs teams with winning records in 2009.

we're just not that good & obviously very poorly coached!

I still have hope. I always have hope.

I am also excited about the Cowboys having a chance to be the first team to beat the Saints.

Well I have a feeling we have dumb players and a kicker we can't count on....

Although Im an optomist and tell myself we will pull through somehow.

But my gut tells me Flozell and Offense will continue killing drives with fumbles and penalties at the worst times, and that our defense will play good football 80% of the time they are on the field and just lay down a few drives a game. And that St.Nick Folk will find a way to miss a fg when we absolutley must have it, and we'll never see him in a cowboys uniform again.

But my gut has been wrong before. Now would be a great time for that.

I won't give up believing until they are eliminated. I also didn't really see this game as a win, so.... The chargers are a good team and they are playing great right now.
The game that got me was this last loss versus the stinking gnats. That was so important.
Tony has played very well in the last two losses and that only makes it worse. :(

I don't think it's over. I think San Diego got in to the playoffs last year at 8-8 and went deep into the playoffs. If we lose to the Commanders, I'll throw in my towel.

Yes San Diego was 8-8 last year and made the playoffs only because they won their division, whcih was a horrible won. Remember, NE was 11-5 and missed the playoffs as a wild card. Dallas won't be so lucky.

Dallas now is barely hanging on to a playoff spot. And after next week, they will be on the outside looking in. Then it's downhill from there.

If we go 9-7 we will not "slide" in. We won't make it at all.

The Giants are 8-6, they Play Washington, Carolina, and Minnesota, and are playing inspired ball. Even though they lost tonight, they put up 38 points and kept battling. Say they win 2 of their last 3. If the Giants end up at 9-7, they hold the tie breaker on us since they beat us twice.

This team is playing uninspired football. And while their stats look great, they are not doing the little things that help you win games. We will only win one more game this year (Washington), and even that does not look good.

Yes, it's over.

Something died in me in that loss to the Eagles last year, to where I find myself not even caring too much about this loss. I think it was "hope". We just don't have a very good team right now. When everyone else starts playing their best ball at the end of the year, our guys are content with laying stagnant. It isn't so much that we collapse in December. We just don't step up and elevate our game. I am critical of our coaches but I'm not even sure a new staff would matter. These players just don't have it in them it seems. They just don't have the heart or maybe even the talent of champions. And there is nothing that any of us fans can do to change that.

This just ***'n sad. I've had the familiar numb feeling that I've had watching our games in December that I've had the last couple years. I've tried to withdraw but haven't been able to. I tried to tell another fan, a friend, that it's over. He's like Chemical Ali (member him) thinking everything is great! We are winning the war! This team sucks. There needs to be changes in the coaching staff and in the lockeroom. We aren't as talented as we thought we were. Don't get me wrong, I think when focused, we can beat anyone but that doesn't happen often enough. We can't get out of the way. I hope with every fiber of me that I'm wrong but it"s over ladies and gentlemen. I just can only hope that our next coach has a backbone.

This what's so disheartening as a fan. Everyone, including myself, is ready to run Phillips and Co. Out of town but he's not the whole problem. The players are as much to blame especially when u consider the core of these guys are the same guys Parcells coached in his final year. Some have become better players since he left, some have not and are still starters on our team.

True that. Different coach. Same story. Undisciplined, sloppy, lack of heart, etc.

What's truly disappointing is that even our best players can be absolute boneheads and screw us over. Witten will have a penalty or run the wrong route (Steelers game last year). Romo will lose his mind and throw a stupid interception or miss a wide open receiver. Barber or Felix will cough up the football. Newman will be burned deep, while our pass rushers will be complete non-factors. Winning is hard enough without our good players shooting us in the foot, as they have done the last few years.

After Romo's annual, "This loss hurts but all we can do is try to get better for next season" speech, where do we go from here?
