I honestly don't check, but I suspect that all my gear is legit due to where I buy it.

If it isn't, can't say that it moves the needle.

I'll accept non-Nike under protest. I will NOT stand for non authentic. Anything.

The reebok days were tough.

I own many caps (don't really wear them that often) and I own sweatshirts (I do wear often) I usually keep a single (active player) jersey for games I attend. Though I may never buy another as they aren't even remotely close in value to the price you pay for them. Especially since I only attend maybe one game a year. My sweat shirt is more than good enough.

Personally, I don't give a crap as long as it doesn't fall apart. (quality made) For the most part, the official NFL stuff is way way way over priced. I personally do not appreciate my wallet getting raped. Even if she is extremely hot!

I don't buy much stuff but if I do it's authentic. While the nfl is not hurt much by knock offs the concept is the same for any product. Knock offs are stealing someone else's property. I consider how I would feel if I had a company and someone knocked off my product and in effect stole from me.

If the price point was fair knock-offs wouldn't be popular. I would gladly pay $50 for an authentic jersey but they cost $300. If I can get the same quality for $35 with free shipping you know it doesn't cost them anywhere near that much to make them. So they are making a huge profit. Stop pricing people out and the knock-offs will die off.

Doesn't bother me at all. I am not paying 2-3 times as much for stuff that is made in the same sweat shop so the billionaires can make money. Make them in the USA only and I will gladly pay the extra cash.

Every year the NFL runs ads imploring us to look for the tag that proves the merch you're buying is authentic NFL stuff. Is it important to you guys to do that or are you cool with buying whatever looks good? All my gear is authentic except for a really old T-shirt that I bought from a roadside vendor near Burleson, Texas shortly after the Cowboys beat the 49ers on their way to Super Bowl 27. It's a plain white shirt with a picture of Alvin Harper beating the 49er defender for the catch that broke the 9ers back. The NFL put out no such product. Today the shirt is so worn out it's one of those that I ought to throw out, but just can't.

I get that. But let's say you had a product you sold and some body knocked it off and sold it for less, would you still be fine with that?

Another thing I do is buy from thrift stores. It's a shot in the dark because they may or may not have something, but if you hit them regularly, you can get some steals. I got an authentic Romo away jersey for five bucks. I also got an authentic NCAA Cornhusker jacket for six bucks. Much of the time you come up empty, but when you hit, you hit, and there's nothing illegal about buying and selling used stuff. The Romo jersey I got was in a Mormon thrift store in Nampa, Idaho. At Goodwill in Cleburne, Texas I came up completely empty. I was really surprised.

Like everything else NFL related, they are pricing the average Joe out. It's the reason there are so many illegal streaming sites out there right now and it's why there is so much counterfit stuff out there.

Me personally, if I can find a quality illegal stream, I'll watch it. If I find a quality counterfit, I'll buy it.

I dont have the kind of morals that would allow me to mark up a product this drastically so i wouldnt make it in retail...so i have no idea what id do in that situation.

I don't mind if Sir Jones in Texas or Ming in Shenzhen makes my Cowboys garb. My only requierment is sturdiness and attention to detail.
I just hate it when I buy a Jersey with the names Achman or Briant.

As for authenticity, it's not as if the seller being denied are the Sisters of the Holy Sacrament or the Boys Club of Manchester.

a better question is how can the other group make the same product, and price it way lower and make
a decent profit ??
if someone does that to you , you might want to find out how they do that and copy them?

most things that are pirated, is because the product is being sold at a inflated price.
It isnt always the producer of the product, sometimes it is the retailers, that over price the product.

For example, if albertsons gets a jersey for $10 each, they can sell them for $15 or they can sell them for $50
or more, it is up to them.

I personally dont have any gear, and part of the reason is it is usually over priced and not very attractive.
I did have a cowboy cap , dont remember if it was legit, but probably not.
I did buy 2 SB T shirts, for each of the 1st 2 in 90's . got them at albertsons, but not sure they were official or not.

Overall the official gear is overpriced, not innovative, and often unattractive and or uncomfortable.
I have to say also I was in alberstons last dec, and they had some cowboy jackets, which I assume
would be official as it was in the cowboy zone, and the jackets, were super cheap looking, I mean really bad
So bad they looked home made. The price I cant remember, but it was so bad the price would not matter.

Nfl licensed stuff is a bit different. But one reason the real thing is higher for many products is they had to design it, they spend money advertising it, and in some cases they pay royalties if someone else designed or invented it
