It's a stretch from last year, from Alex Smith.

He actually had 9 consecutive games without an INT (but they lost the first 3).

I think Dak (right now) compares very much to Alex Smith - obviously, with a much better line and skill people.

I don't think that's a bad thing at all, as I think Alex Smith is a very capable QB. However, he is not in Romo's league.

Such an epic fail here.:banghead:

How so? I'm really trying to understand some of the logic a lot of people have, but there's a lot of failure on their part to express anything other than feelings.

I'm trying to determine if these thought processes are consistent. So far, it seems they are not.

Did you really try to create a correlation with Alex Smith.. "bus driver of all bus drivers" and Dak Prescott a rookie lighting the league up.. then flip it by pointing out that Romo is better than Alex Smith thus better than Dak.. which means that Romo should start immediately? Is that REALLY what you're doing here?

Dak isn't "lighting up the league." He is driving a bus...so???

And yes, Romo is better than both Smith and Dak....so??? And yes, I feel he should start...when ready. If that's immediately, then yes, immediately.

Are you really suggesting that Dak is "lighting up the league?" Are you suggesting Dak is better than Romo? Is that REALLY what you're doing?

Ummmm, I think that is what 90% of people are doing.... Including Staubach, Aikman, Johnson, Emmitt, Troy, Pearson, Ray Lewis, Shannon, Dungy, Bradshaw, Favre, etc... You get the picture.

My statement that Dak is "lighting up the league" is largely figurative. I'll ask you this, what's been the biggest story of this young season? One of them is obviously The Dallas Cowboys and the success of our rookie QB? Is that so difficult? Do you live under a rock? His poise, energy and play has energized the entire organization. He's not just driving a bus... he's making plays. I believe he's second in QBR, passer rating off the charts, just broke Brady's record and is 5-1 as a rookie? Very close to 6-0. The fact that he's gone to Lambeau with a win, beat a division rival on the road showing poise etc..... has caused a big stir in the NFL.. hence.. "lighting up the league." So by your analysis.. if you physically inserted Alex Smith.. into our training camp.. and plugged him in... WE WOULD HAVE THE SAME EXACT RESULTS?.. That's nonsense. It's lazy and a very lame correlation. If you feel like Romo should start that's fine. Fair.. your attempt to prove this via Alex Smith is pretty lame imo. That's all. Am I suggesting Dak is better than Romo?
On paper no... but it's all relative and not as black and white as you're making it. Who's better right now? Who has the momentum and energy that's rippling through THE ENTIRE TEAM. You have no clue as to the combination and formula of unseen factors that are contributing to this wave we're riding right now. Perhaps we're aided by fewer turnovers? Perhaps Daks mobility and the playcalling that goes along with it is having a huge effect? Perhaps Dak has just struck an unseen nerve with the team? Perhaps Dak is just ice cold in critical situations? Perhaps he's naive enough to think he should win every time he steps on the field? Perhaps he simply adds new life to a solid foundation? So to say Tony Romo is the superior QB isn't necessarily wrong.. it just doesn't explain the entire situation which is why a controversy even exists in the first place. It's like being handed the ability to go back 10 years in your own life and change one key event... yet that one change actually ruined 5 other things you couldn't have explained. I think you're over simplifying the issue.. actually overcomplicating it. Dak has the juice... let it play out...

No, it's not difficult. I don't know why you'd think it was. The Cowboys should be a big story, they are one of the better teams. And Dak has been an impressive rookie. No reason for him not to be talked about either. Never suggested otherwise.

Do you live under a rock? His poise, energy and play has energized the entire organization. He's not just driving a bus... he's making plays. I believe he's second in QBR, passer rating off the charts, just broke Brady's record and is 5-1 as a rookie? Very close to 6-0.

This is where I'm going to disagree. I have no evidence that Dak is what is energizing anything. And I don't see him making any amazing plays either. I see him driving the bus with a lot of safe, low risk throws. I don't see him making a lot of escapes. I don't see him making huge plays on the ground. I don't see him throwing strikes into tight windows. I see him sitting calmly behind the best OL in the league and making safe throws to open guys, for the most part. Kind of like how I'd imagine Alex Smith if he had a decent OL.

First, do you know what the world correlation means? Second, yes, I think this Cowboys team would be 5-1 with Alex Smith. Would it be exactly the same? No, but I think the record would be. Why wouldn't he? Alex Smith's team won 11 in a row last year. Now you're suggesting that a team with him at QB is incapable of winning 5 in a row with much better offensive talent around him? That doens't seem like very well thought out analysis to me.

If you feel like Romo should start that's fine. Fair.. your attempt to prove this via Alex Smith is pretty lame imo. That's all. Am I suggesting Dak is better than Romo?

My attempt wasn't to prove Romo should start, but to point out the inconsistent logic and reasoning that is being used by many here. This momentum and chemistry thing is kind of silly. You're talking about someone who has been the heart and soul of this team for the past decade. Someone who has far more experience working with the vast majority of the guys on this team, and more chemistry. There's no reason, none at all, to think this team would falter and not click on all cylinders with their leader and one of the best QBs in the game. It's a pretty silly argument IMO.

I think maybe you're oversimplifying the issue and overstating some things as well. There are a lot of other factors to consider, and I think they all point to Romo.

You seem satisfied with 5-1 and wonder why anyone would want to rock the boat. I wonder why anyone wouldn't want to do everything possible to be 6-0 (Apply this going forward as it obviously).

Chlds play it's cool man. We just disagree. You're looking at what Dak's been able to do as run of the mill or just ordinary. Some see an extraordinary spark. Some see a born winner. You believe Dak is doing nothing Romo cannot and that Romo is the key to our success. I can dig it man.

This is where I'm going to disagree. I have no evidence that Dak is what is energizing anything.
In my eyes, this is just ignorance. As Ive stated many times on here, I have followed MSU my entire life. The very first snap Dak took in college, you could see the energy, swagger, confidence, etc... Whatever you want to call it, filter throughout the entire team. Offense, defense, everything was better across the board. A team/program that was historically in the bottom half of the SEC he elevated to the #1 team in all of college football. I'll say with zero doubt it was almost ENTIRELY due to him.

I also can see a GIGANTIC difference now that he is no longer there. The team/program feels practically dead. I see all the comments the Dallas coaches, players, media, commentators making about "how much different it is this year" and again I know the primary reason why.

This is taking nothing away from some of the talent around him... They are great players. But, when I make comments like when Dez goes down, it doesn't matter, when Tyron Smith is out, it doesn't matter.... You want to put Morris back there instead of Elliott, again doesn't matter. I've seen Dak and the effect he has on teams MANY times. Sorry if you don't see it... Or choose not to.

There is a reason the national media is practically obsessed with the guy. I know some of you want to see Romo get his chance with Zeke and the OL... But if we want to win, I KNOW who gives us a better chance.

Well said and for the life of me, I can't see why others don't see how Dak has positively impacted the team especially given what we went through last year? I think it's hard for some to separate their allegiance to Romo and recognizing how great we're playing right now. Baffles me.
