Are you a native New Yorker? You would have to be literally 1 in a million if you are... and are also a Cowboy fan.

My friend... little diddy about Yo.. Yo Mick.... lol

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Have lived in NYC, Long Island etc.

I became a Cowboy fan in the late 70's/early 80's.

Going to my Aunt's house every Thanksgiving... after dinner, there was nothing to do.

I turned on the tube.
There it was.

The Star.

Thats all it took.

:D

You type like a New Yorker talks too! Random half worded sentences!

I visited NY one time when I went on business...had the time of my life, and met some of the coolest people.

But I would not live there for nothing! I like the wide open air I have right here in Utah.

Don't want to be there! I like fresh air...open spaces, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, motorcycle riding, hiking, skiing, stuff like that.

Crime's not my thang! Neither is the cost of living to just have to put up with 500 people per square yard of land.

It's all good...

You know what...the 80's were quiet.

The 90's - fans that werent Cowboys fan AVOIDED me. I would lay it on pretty good...especially when they begged for it. LOL

The late 90's - it got ugly.

2000's were pretty mild again... last couple of years have been tit for tat... but last year was very humbling.

We beat Giants 2x and should have won that playoff game - knocked me off my pedestal. For sure.

But.... never do I NOT represent. :D

When I moved from Penna. at 19, I went to Houston, TX.

Those were the days of "Luv ya' Blue" Oiler football, and Phi Slamma Jamma U.H. Basketball. I had no problem with those folks, and didn't "hate" anything Houston. Plus, I NOW lived less than four hours from Texas Stadium, so that was like heaven.

I have no problem "getting along" with folks in their home-state AFTER I've moved there. I also lived in Minnesota, and the Viking/Twins thing didn't bother near as much as the Penna. stuff where I was born and raised.

I have to admit, when I moved to Hawaii 20 years ago, I felt a lot like I did in Penna. about how they carry on over U. of Hawaii. Especially the football. It took me a while to get over the "home-team" over-hype. Now, being here for so long, I like to see Hawaii do well and kinda' root for 'em. There always the underdog and out-manned most of the time. Last year, with Colt Brennan and the Sugar Bowl...................that was about as good as it ever gets here in Hawaii.
I also have "adopted" U. of Hawaii because it's probably the best shot for my kid to play college ball, so I better be "on board"..................

I am from Asheville, NC which is kind of 1/4 from Charlotte and 3/4 from Nashville. The Panthers are not one of the more popular teams here and really The Titans are not either. The place I work is 1/2 Commander fans and 1/2 Cowboy fans. I guess it has something to do with years worth of no football in NC. Basketball is king here and any true NC native loves the Heels. Anyway, some of the best times are giving those dirty Skins fans grief.

I've noticed a lot of conversation here about "I'm from there, but I hate them". Or, "I'm a Cowboy fan, but I'm from there, so I'm pulling for them..."

It appears to be one-or-the-other, no gray area.................

I, for one, I'm from Penna. Was born there in 1960 and left in '79. I've been a Cowboy fan since I was a toddler. I don't even remember "becoming" a Cowboy fan, I just "AM" one.

And I detest "anything" Pennsylvania in the sporting world. The Eagles of course, are No. 1 on the list. The Steelers, Phillies, Penn State, etc, etc, etc.......you name it. In large part because it's so SHOVED down your throat, and the local media outlets are WAY overboard in their bias's. You just grow to resent anything "local" because they overhype anything over .500.

Notre Dame was really big where I'm from too. So I can't stand them either.

Anyway, just wondering if more folks are like me or not like me........??

Well I guess the closes thing to a Home Town does not have a football team unless you count Highschools. I mean which is My home town hell I went to like 10 maybe more Elementary schools in that time

I mean as a Kid I lived in Nuremberg Germany; Killeen, Belton, Harker Heights TX; Ft Stewart, GA; Chesterton & Merville IN
