This is a quick sum up of a text message conversation I had with a "diehard "Eagles fan before our second meeting in Philadelphia:

Me: Y'all better watch out for my boy Barwin, he's going to light Sanchez up.

EF: Man, we ain't worried about him. We contained him last time didn't we?

Me: yeah y'all did, but watch out this time. I'm telling you Connor Barwin is starving to get a sack on Sanchez.

EF: like I said, we're not worried. You and your boy Barwin bring it! #BirdGang

Everyone here on Corn, Illinois magically became Denver fans when Peyton Manning left Indy.

I got a text from a friend of mine who's a Denver fan the other day. She said something like "I'm glad that Jason Witten got his 1st playoff win".

I swear, half of the Denver "fans" around here can't name more than 5 players on their roster.

I thought you were gonna talk about fair weather Cowboys fans. To be honest, I don't really even like to talk to Cowboys fans in person because I don't know how much of a "fan" some stranger who calls him/herself a Cowboys fan really is. I remember when I first knew I was a Cowboys fan at around 5 years old, my uncle, the only Cowboys fan in a family of Brooklyn-bred Giants fans, asked me, "Who's the fullback?" I didn't know. I was 5 and it was 1991. I liked them because I liked my uncle and because the Cowboys were good. It wasn't until a long time later when I realized why he asked me that question.

One thing I noticed recently, which I find kinda funny, is the amount of foreigners who call themselves fans of a certain team. I moved to Seattle (from Miami) a few months ago to start a grad program. I'm also affiliated with the tech industry over here. Anyway, I know and deal with a lot of people who've never been exposed to American football before. In school it's mainly Asians and in industry it's a lot of Eastern Europeans. They all watch the Seahawks every weekend now and own a lot of Seahawks apparel. They just moved here a few months ago, some of them a year ago at the most. I can't even fault them. They're just trying to identify with American culture. I just think it's funny. This one guy from Romania watches the games religiously but he barely understands what's going on half the time. He'll cheer when Russel Wilson throws it out of bounds and one of the coordinators in a Seahawks sweater catches it.

Used to do stuff like that with one girl that used to work where I do. No matter the topic she always knew what was going or...she thought she did.

I would come in and say...Did you catch that Ravens game where they beat the Yankees.

Her...Yep, I knew they would win because the yankees are not good this year.

I would just look at a friend and he would start laughing.

I used to do that with people about music.

"Did you hear Underwater Nightmare's new album?"

"Yeah, it's okay. I used to like them before they went pop."

He is making fun of an eagles fan who does not even know that Barwin is on his own team.

My GF loved Marion Barber, so a couple a years ago we were watching the game and Harris had a good punt return....she was yelling and screaming " that's my Barber!" I said "What?!?!" she said "My Barber! I cant believe they made him change his number to 17!! " ...... LOL I just let it go, I finally broke it to her after the game that he was no longer a Cowboy.

Human nature can be maddening. No matter what the subject is people will personally identify with one side, often based upon some superficial characteristic, and will ignorantly argue for that side to the death. It's amusing and sometimes frustrating when the subject is sports, it's dangerous when the subjects are more important, like politics.

That one, I can sort of understand, since both had hair that covered their name on the jersey. Then again, did she even listen to the announcers? No volume, perhaps?? And why do the almost never play him in the backfield, only split him out into the slot all the time???

It's funny!

I think it's cool. I'm a die hard STL Cardinals fan and went to law school in St. Louis with a lot of foreigners. A lot of them took on the team, which is easy for anyone living in STL to do since it's like the city religion. I thought it was neat.

I think everyone can relate to this one. If you have a female friend and you start talking about the Cowboys the first thing they always ask is, "OMG how is Miles Austin doing?". Thank you, Kim Kardashian!

The ShopRite in NJ was crawling with Cowboys jerseys and sweatshirts on Saturday. Smh.

I avoid them due to fair weatherness and the fear of getting stuck in a meathead conversation.

Must of been a lot of Cowboys gear under the tree this year.
