Do you think CeeDee will have a bigger impact than Dez did as a rookie?

Yes, CeeDee is a better receiver than Dez. He might even be better than Cooper and it shouldn’t take more than a season to prove it. It sucks that he hasn’t had a normal camp but we will all see what he is capable of sooner than later

Dez vs CeeDee

Do you think CeeDee will have a bigger impact than Dez did as a rookie?

I personally think CeeDee will exceed Dez as a rookie. Route running being the main reason. I think both are equally athletic and 50/50 balls. But if you remember correctly Romo had to figure out how to high point Dez due to terrible route running.

Thoughts?
Dont know...

But excellent question.

All I know is Dez caught that ball in Green Bay.

he caught it, took a couple of football steps...lunged forward to try and get it pass the goal line and the ball came loose after he had been down and its not like the ball came loose like a fumble but it was pinned to the side of his head

that was a catch

Dez was kind of lost as a wr as a rookie.

I will never forget him screwing up two straight plays on the final drive vs the saints on thanksgiving in 2010. Kitna was like what are you doing.

He was electric as a punt returner though.

Can we just be glad that Dez is no longer a Cowboy? Dez will not even be in the top 3 of who wore 88 in a year a so...

Dez was not a leader...

The all time cowboys wr TD leader won't be in the top 3?

What? Dez was so much fun here. In the stadium he was one of those great players that just brought an energy that few can duplicate.

Nothing lamb is going to do in a year is going to make anyone forget Dez Bryant.

Besides lamb is the 3 here. Cooper is the stud who the passing game should be going through.

Dez was the man when he started for Dallas. Coop is the $100 million dollar man for now. So let's pump the breaks.

Not true. Miles Austin had just had a monster year and Roy Williams was still on the team.

Austin was on Pace to have another monster year in 2010 until romo was injured. Kitna never threw him the ball. It would drive me nuts in the stadium seeing austin running one of those skinny posts or drag routes and being wide open and kitna would just hold the ball.

Great question. I'm picking Lamb. His route running in college was better than Dez could ever dream about at any point in his football career. And Lamb is faster/quicker.

Wasn't route running it was about knowing the full playbook and all WR positions.
The offense only called for a few routes because he only played X in a Garrett-led offense.

Dez didn't need to run good routes because he bullied CBs and jumped over them. As he lost some athleticism he needed sharper routes and didn't have them.
It was not about the playbook, Dez couldnt run routes. Romo started high pointing him even on slant rountes because of it.

Yes I think CeeDee is better coming out of school.. Better prepared..

Will he ever be as good as peak Dez? We’ll see.. Dez was a TD machine.
I don’t know what the stats will be, but Cee Dee WAY better, more developed player than Dez ever was.

Maybe. I could see Amari having a career year or flaming out. If you made me pick one or the other as more likely, I would have to guess flame out.

Dez started 2 games his rookie year.
45 catches for 561. But he did have 6 TDs.
Of course CeeDee will have a bigger impact, barring injury.
The TDs might be close though, but I think he will exceed Dez in all three categories.

I think Lamb will be better at catching those balls that are not where you are expecting them to be. He seem to have sticky hands... Dez was blunt force trauma... Ceedee seems more graceful for lack of coming up with a better term right now lol.

I think they are really different types of receivers... Will be hard to make an accurate comparisson.

I think Romo, was a huge factor in his success, but people will probably debate that.
Same goes for Miles Austin, Laurent Robinson, Crayton and others too.

If CeeDee can stay healthy, he definitely will. Remember, Dez had a high ankle sprain early in camp and started the season injured. Then late in the season he broke that ankle and missed the last quarter of the season.

NO. REASON? Dez had a 1st string QB instead of a backup.:muttley:

The dez route running wasnt even a “thing” his rookie year. Thats something that came on in recent years that people just latched on to.

I tried to "like" this post more than once but it wouldn't let me. How does a guy have the numbers Dez had by being a terrible route runner? That's like saying that Amari Cooper is slow just because he's not as fast as Tyreek Hill.

Name a great wr that didn't have a prolific passer?
