Dez vs CeeDee

Do you think CeeDee will have a bigger impact than Dez did as a rookie?

I personally think CeeDee will exceed Dez as a rookie. Route running being the main reason. I think both are equally athletic and 50/50 balls. But if you remember correctly Romo had to figure out how to high point Dez due to terrible route running.

Thoughts?

Dez definitely turned heads in practice back in 2010. But Dez had an offseason program to adjust to the speed of the game.

No rookie camp/OTAs in the spring is what makes CeeDee's camp so impressive to me.

Dez was the man when he started for Dallas. Coop is the $100 million dollar man for now. So let's pump the breaks.

Probably CeeDee will. I think the route running will make the difference. Dez on the other hand, early on in his career, it felt more like he was going to be another Alvin Harper versus an Irvin, in that it was like he make one big play and then would be gone. Of course his 2014 season was sensational, and lets hope that CeeDee can match that.

The dez route running wasnt even a “thing” his rookie year. Thats something that came on in recent years that people just latched on to.
His route running was definitely a thing his rookie year. Heck we had many of us here on that were on the old fan forum would talk about this weekly. Dez was a one trick pony that Romo made into unicorn. I still say that Romo should make the HoF for making Dez.

if he stays healthy...i believe CeeDee will be historic.
and i still love Dez....because it ☆ matters.

Fouttahere clown.

Ceedee is in a ideal situation,he can play the majority of his snaps in the slot and he will get a lot of free looks and lesser CBs to deal with,if he stays healthy he can eclipse 1000 yards.

Can we just be glad that Dez is no longer a Cowboy? Dez will not even be in the top 3 of who wore 88 in a year a so...

Dez was not a leader...

88 is earned. Ceedee Lamb has earned nothing. 88 should not be worn by any current cowboy.

Dez sat out a year and came in cold asked to beat press man coverage before every touch was illegal contact.
CeeDee was a monster last year who will be in the slot where he can play off the line.

So, yes, CeeDee will easily surpass Dez rookie numbers.

Wasn't route running it was about knowing the full playbook and all WR positions.
The offense only called for a few routes because he only played X in a Garrett-led offense.

Dez didn't need to run good routes because he bullied CBs and jumped over them. As he lost some athleticism he needed sharper routes and didn't have them.

Well, different scenarios all together. One had a trash coach, the other has McCarthy. One had to play outside immediately, the other is only required to play the 3. I think they are both great talents. Dez gets a lot of crap in the CZ, but in his prime, he was the biggest end zone threat in the game. I think CeeDee has that. We shall see.

Yes I think CeeDee is better coming out of school.. Better prepared..

Will he ever be as good as peak Dez? We’ll see.. Dez was a TD machine.

I think Lamb will be better at catching those balls that are not where you are expecting them to be. He seem to have sticky hands... Dez was blunt force trauma... Ceedee seems more graceful for lack of coming up with a better term right now lol.

I think they are really different types of receivers... Will be hard to make an accurate comparisson.

I think Romo, was a huge factor in his success, but people will probably debate that.
