I know he recieved a lot of crap for missing that block that led to Romos injury but all that aside, do you think he fits into the teams future plans or would you prefer someone else? Is the organization still high on him?

I think he showed improvement though out the season and at least should be back at camp next season to compete.

Got both romo and bryant injured... i don't like him. He might be one of the 3 gronkowski brothers but he basically tanked our season single handedly...

The only person who tanked the season was Wade. Rookies make mistakes and you have to be able to live with them if your gonna play them.

Not all rookies are worth playing. He clearly wasn't ready.

I could see a rookie fullback dropping balls, or maybe fumbling... but missing blocks? sorry

Umm gosh I hope not. The kid missed blocks that got Romo, Dez, and Kitna hurt.

Thanks but no thanks. Let him be some other teams problem.

Who was the genius that had a rookie, undrafted free agent fullback responsible for protecting our franchise QB?

Even Pro Bowl fullbacks miss blocks sometimes. Romo and Bryant getting hit was his fault, but them getting injured as a result is just bad luck. You really can't blame the blocker any more than you'd blame him for any other sack or tackle allowed.

Gronkowski was decent but not great, and should be better next year than he was this year. He'll be back in camp and probably has a good chance to make the roster unless the team finds someone they really like.

I hope if we draft an OL he never gives up a sack people will be hollering to cut him. :laugh2:

We were 1-7 when romo got hurt. Him getting romo and dez hurt had nothing to do with our season tanking.

1 and 4.

ummm we were 1-5 when Romo got hurt. Definitely not 1-7. And we could have done something if we got into the playoffs... Look at the seahawks...

and posted a winning record in the 2nd half of the season with him playing. Injuries happen and while he missed picking up his man he is far from the 1st to do so even the best have missed on picking up a pass rusher.

This makes a lot of sense to me.

Of course, we'll clearly bring in competition which should make it interesting.

As we should. He is a rookie who made a rookie mistake he also made some nice plays and blocking on running plays improved as the season wore on. I'm more interested in coaches helping to correct mistakes than to cut a player anytime they make one.

This is such a simple truth that I can't help but shake my heads over those that want to cut Gronk for it. These guys are basing decisions on spite rather than intelligence and logic, and that would be an incredibly stupid way for our coaches to make decisions. Romo could have got hurt just as easily anytime he got hit, so the fact that Gronk missed a block isn't one bit worse than any other block that gets missed. In fact, it could be arugued that it's not as bad because he was a rookie learning the ropes, and outside of Dez he is the ONLY guy on our offense this past season that has that excuse.

The guy deserves the chance to come back and compete fo a job next season, and it's absolutely ridiculous to suggest that a grudge is a reason to keep him from doing that.

One positive that did stick out to me was that it appeared he had decent hands coming out of the backfield. Better than Cricket's, imo. Seemed that Gronko had more natural hands than him.

his missed block took romo out, fact. With Romo we probably make the playoffs all things being equal.

Yes he missed a block other have missed blocks that could have easily cost an injury. As for the playoffs I don't think there is any way anyone could make that comment and be taken seriously.
