...Do you think Terrance Williams is good enough for even the #2 WR position?

I also believe Terrance Williams demonstrated in 2014 he is fine as a #2. I thought he was pretty productive last season and had massive catches in both playoff games. There are a few things we are dealing with with Williiams. 1) The #2 WR is kind of the #3 most places because of the number of balls Jason Witten gets. 2) He never has had great technique in catching the ball as he defaults to the rap of being a "body catcher" as opposed to a hands catcher. That will occasionally lead to some disappointing moments where the body demonstrates why that is never taught. And 3) I assume he is putting a ton of pressure on himself with Dez out. And to some people that can have an adverse effect on the results. But, I still believe the Cowboys can depend on Williams. He is pretty solid overall...

I don't understand the concept of 2nd WR. If you are on the field playing WR (not slot) then you should be held to a certain standard. I understand the salary cap keeps teams from having 2 Dez level receivers. However the 2nd WR should absolutely have the ability to have 1 WR production. If your 2nd can't be counted on to have 100 yard games when he becomes the 1st due to injury then he isn't good enough.

We have continuously invested valuable draft picks in backup TE's while neglecting the WR position.

Maybe those extra highly drafted tight ends will pay off now that we have a QB with a long range arm and a short range brain.

TW will be as good as TW wants to be.
He has all the skills necessary, its just between his ears now. There have been more than a few players at this level that have that same road, but choose different paths.

I would like to see more improvement from him, but he's had moments. When you consider that many "2's" are future "1's" (Jefferies, Maclin, Hopkins)... than Twill trails behind... I would guess that his contract will make the decision on if he's adequate or not.

No he sucks not sure why we drafted him he's not really good at anything we should cut him he can't catch with his hands our season is over anyways we'll be lucky to have 3 wins by week 10 we have no defense I can't believe we're starting Weeden no other team is that dumb I hate Jerry Jones.

He has been trying too hard not to "body" catch. On his incompletions this year he appears to be "hands" catching which has caused some drops and some balls to get batted out of his hands by denders. When he "body" caches it's harder for DBs to knock the ball out of his hands and he is less likely to drop the ball.

Basically, his problems are the fault of fans/media that complained about him being a body catcher when it really wasn't a problem.

We don't talk about twill on here enough for me to make an informed decision. I'll research it and start a thread.

I'm not enamored when he is first fiddle...but shall give him a growth period to at least be worked around the role of a # 1. This staff will be giving him some chances that they design, and we shall see how he responds to those opportunities.

I believe he's probably a top 18 number two receiver. Let's just look at the NFC East. The Commanders have Jackson and garçon with garçon as the no 2. The Giants have Odell and Cruz with Cruz as the no 2 when he gets back from injury. The Eagles are just messed up so.....

I personally think that Cruz and garçon are more reliable receivers. At this stage garçon might be more of a possession receiver, but he's still reliable and Jackson stretches the field for them.

I have to say that Twill did get a lot of Tds for us last year esp down the stretch and in the playoffs. A lot of people are just looking at his yards last year and not considering the Tds

As a number #2, yes. He's a pefect compliment WR. He's not a #1 and because he isn't, people want to knock on him. He's made some big plays for us. I don't get all the hate.

This might as well read 'do you think Terrence Williams has two legs?' Granted, 'good enough' is a really subjective term, but he's a pretty good complimentary receiver, and has been since he entered the league.

Sturm is very good and usually has his facts straight, but he is wrong when he says:

"Meanwhile, yes, for the Patriots, Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain will both return. The trouble is that they have been away from the franchise since Sept 7 or so as they are not to even be at the facility during their suspension. So will they be up to speed?"

Rolando McClain can be with the team and has been sitting in on meetings, etc. all along. Unless I'm mistaken, that is what has been happening.

Hardy is the one who can't have contact with the team, although he has been hanging out with team mates on their off time.

Also, for Sturm to say that Hardy hasn't played in a game since 2013 is technically correct, but he got plenty of snaps in the pre season games and never missed a day of the team's workout, practice, OTA, or minicamp since he signed with Dallas.

That is me just nit-picking though because Sturm is the best Dallas area media member... and it's not even close.

TW is learning a whole new game.
He hasnt had to play without the benefit of a Dez Bryant demanding full attention from opposing secondaries.
TW is trying to learn on the fly how to be a number one in this league, and that is no easy task.
He is getting doubled up, and always facing the the defense number 1 corner with help over the top, getting jammed, you name everything Dez had to learn to contend with, and now TWs got that on his plate,,, better learn fast kid, ravenous fans give you about a two game limit before tearing you up...lol

Thats exactly why I have stressed in other threads about the importance of migrating to a 2TE base package, even bringing in a 3rd in situations.

Time for this team to start utilizing talent at hand, now.....
