Sure, but there is no reason that someone like Grantham who was DC in Cleveland or Campo couldn't have some of those responsibilities. Campo especially as he is one of two guys coaching DBs.

But Campo is not a true 3/4 guy, right? He's a 4/3 coach that know how to coach linebackers, but do you really think he's a good replacement for Stewart?

(well, you would be a good replacement for Stewart)!

You think Dat is the new LB coach or that we go after Gibbs? Or something else?
Possibly Jim Bates.

I knew it was not going to be Capers. Said that last night almost as his deal with Green Bay was going down. Felt really stupid for not predicting it at the start of the show.

Any inside info there, Hos? Or best educated guess at this point?
A little of both. I'll provide more if I hear more.

I think it will come from outside the organization...

Campo doesnt have the experience in the 3-4 and his best asset as a coach is being a DB coach....

I dont think its Grantham because he doesnt have the experience in Philips 3-4 style.

I think Wade and Jerry are waiting...it might be someone from the Chargers...or someone who has worked with Wade. Wade has been around awhile and knows alot of coaches.....IMHO they are waiting to see if they can become available.

Wade knows this may his last year here....he will want someone he can trust and someone that has alot of experience in his style.

If its someone on the staff....I would assume they would be already appointed. Makes no sense not too...unless its a coach who is deciding if he wants to stay.

Forget Campo guys. That was a media prediction with no legs. It was designed to piss people off given Campo's prior history here.

They will promote within, it only makes sense if this is Wades final year as HC.

Yeah promote from within seems the most likely because any outside candidates can be blocked from interviewing, and I don't want anyone unemployed

Ahh, Bates. That is who I wasn't thinking of. He'd be a solid choice. Not exciting but decent.

As long as it is not his old buddy ted cottrell.

Yikes, I second that notion. I would rather have Vic Fangio over Ted Cottrell.

Fangio is currently an assistant w/the Balt Ravens. May be more suited to LB coach than DC though. Another Raven assistant that I really wanted was Dennis Thurman. The guy wanted to come home but Dallas chose to go with Maxie.:bang2:

Another secondary coach that could be a DC next season is the Eagles' secondary coach, Sean McDermott. The guy has been with Jim Johnson as over 10 years, and has moved up the ranks steadily. Reid has said in the past that McDermott is as good a secondary coach as there is in the league. He also coached LBs in Philly (developed the young Eags' LB corps: Gaither, Bradley, Gocong). The guy is well rounded, and well respected around the league, unlike Campo.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need a henchman: a flunky to Wade but a disciplinarian to the players.

we have a flunky, he is the head coach though.

Wade is best fit to be the softie working for a tough disciplanarian.

I dont think you can have it the other way around.

That may be the better option, but I wouldn't say you "can't have it the other way around." There are many ways to skin a cat.

A bigger concern to me is a scheme that the players feel like they have to overcome to be successful.
