Lets assume its not even a conversation with the teams from after the 90's up to Parcells. But do any of you feel that Aikman would have won a SB with the teams of Parcells, Wade, Garrett, MM?

Nope. I don’t. Aikman was great but without that defense I don’t even think the cowboys win the 2 they did with aikman.

I think we have a better shot in 2014 and 2016 simply because of the real, not fake, leadership that he would provide.

That's something the Cowboys have been lacking from the QB position since he retired.

    I doubt it

2016 would have won a game or two more.
We lost at home to the worst pass defense Dallas has ever aced in the playoffs…and a team that gave up 40 a few times.

We may have squeaked out a win or two in 2007 too.
Though, maybe Crayton still pulls up on his route in the endzone (for the win) with 17 seconds left.

    No Super Bowl wins though

Id say they might win more playoff games those years.
But win the whole thing is a huge reach

No. Aikman was just part of a completed puzzle of great athletes at each position Dallas was building. Remember, he only won one game vs Skins.

What completed the puzzle as with any outstanding franchises of today, is an elite coaching staff. That's the only time the term elite is valid. Aikman, like Romo, would have been a wasted talent with any other coaching staff.

Yah, Aikman wins no SB's without his all HOF team and Emmitt leading the way.

He always became a different better QB in the playoffs . When the competition was the hardest he shone brightest. so yeah I think he might have taken the team that got screwed in Greenbay on the Dez catch farther and also Dak’s rookie team farther .

Maybe with Parcells. He wouldn't have screwed up something as simple as a kick hold with a greasy ball.

Post any Lori Morgan pictures please. Or Aikmans country hits.

fwiw....He wouldn't have been forced to be the holder.
Then again, they asked about Super Bowl wins, not a single wild card game

Aikman had the best balanced offense and team in the early 90's and the best OC he could have had. During that time, the Cowboys were the worst pick your poison team for the opposition since the 70's Steelers and 80's Niners.

Do you see Aikman making those Houdini moves that Romo was forced to make with invaders all over the pocket? Would Aikman have even lasted?

Farther is one thing, winning the whole thing is something else.
And remember, Aikman's Cowboys were 2-4 in road playoff games for his career.
The only incomplete pass (if you want to call it that) in the whole 2nd half of the Green Bay road loss was the Dez "drop".

Yah, maybe he takes Dak's rookie team farther. Because he had Zeke to lean on. But its not like Dak played poorly that year. He played well enough to win. But no way Aikman wins a SB.

No, Aikman gets crushed on most of those Romo teams with a mediocre to bad line.

    We have a winner!

I agree. Aikman's demeanor in the locker room and on the field would have been a big benefit to some of the better Cowboys teams. Romo never had that quality. But the 1990s teams also had Emmitt and Michael Irvin, two other players who have the same competitive fire and unselfishness on the field.
