... after last night's Eagles game?

Seriously. Last night showed that they aren't invincible. Moss can be slowed down. Brady can make mistakes. Their D can be scored upon.

They're a great team, but they aren't perfect. Last night should be a real confidence-builder to every team that has to play the Pats.

I thought we had a good chance to beat them if the team does meet them one more time before last night's game. Last night's game just cemented my belief.

the eagles are the best blitzing team in the league.

They only had to cover for about 2 seconds.

I dont think any other team in the league can blitz and force pressure in brady's face like the eagles did last night.

Now I still think pittsburgh has the best shot cause they can do the same. I am not sure they can cover as well as the eagles however, and I dont trust mike tomlin against bellichick and his staff at all. Lebeau will come after him, but can they cover the quick stuff?

We pass rush better than the eagles I belive this year, but the timing on their blitzing is nearly perfect.

I would love another shot at them. I am curious to see how the steelers game goes.

the eagles had em, feely forced that pass in the end. I feel the same way about the pats defense as I did when we played them, they are old, slow and stationary. Unfortunately they are usually playing with a double digit lead.

I knew they werent invincible after we played them...we had a chance and even had the lead in the 2nd half...we just couldnt overcome our injury situation and all the penalties...Indy should have beaten them and we can beat them if we play them again...have to shore up some coverages and eliminate the penalties, but their D can be had and they seem to believe they dont need to run the ball...one dimensional teams with mediocre defenses can usually be beaten come playoff time

Out of 10 games, I'd say we would beat them 3-4 times.

the bad weather in Jan/Dec (in NE) might trip them up also. Might be the first legitimate home field disadvantage. A team like PITT (or Colts) can go up there and smash them up in a cold, nightime Jan game before we'd play them.

If we can afford to iso Newman in the slot on Welker and take our Moss and Stallworth some other way, there is no doubt in my mind that we could not only win, but win big. Their defense ain't no thing.

We couldn't do that in the first game, and it killed us. The Eagles had noone that could handle the slot since Hansen is no Rod Hood, and they don't drop Brown or Sheppard down in the nickel. Having Newman in that position is a huge advantage against teams like the Pats, and should answer the "WHY DO WE ALWAYS MOVE NEWMAN TO SLOT, HE SHOULD BE COVERING SANTANA MOSS!!!!!!!!!" questions we've been facing for years.

Doubt? No.

We can beat them... I just don't think that we will IF we meet again this season.

You have to remember they can lineup in jumbo sets and play smash mouth football also.

That is what is most impressive to me about them, they can approach every game about 5 ways and be successfull. Last night they decided to see if the eagles could cover a 4 wide look all night. The eagles did a good job and the pats still put 30 on the board.

I bet if the eagles and pats played again today and the pats decided to run the ball and play power football they would blow them out.

Again though, the pats versatility is what is most impressive to me about them, they will beat you equally as bad about 5 different ways. It must be virtually impossible to prepare for them.

I guess it depends...I think we are the more physical team on both sides of the ball...we have to be healthy, especially at CB...but I know we can move the ball and score on them and we can stop the run...if you limit their big plays (ie no cheap easy scores) they can be had because they are a finesse team now and make little effort to run

a finesse team? You must be watching a different team. They have different offensive looks each week.

the team I have been watching even in 4 wide like last night is by no means a "Finesse" team.

Cowboys can if we can work on the timing of our blitzes instead of everyone running into each other or taking bad angles.

The one thing I'm most worried about is what the coaching staff would prepare for. The Patriots are so versatile. They can do so many different types of sets and formations. If the coaching staff concentrates on removing one aspect of their offense, the Patriots can just adjust mid-game.

You must be confused.

This doesn't happen anymore.

Zimmer is gone, and that was all his fault.

Seriously, is there really any contention whatsoever that are blitzes are much more effective this season, with essentially the same players?

Containing Welker is the key to beating the Patriots. That and scoring alot of points!

Beats me.

It's pretty obvious that we blitz MORE - much more - whether they have a higher success pct., I couldn't say for sure.

absolutely a finesse team..their receivers hate contact and their OL doesnt push anybody around...defensively they have some good blitz packages, but they allow run lanes to open and play soft in the secondary

their offense has been the same for weeks...they have so much confidence in their passing game they dont fill the need to do much else, and I think its starting to catch up with them...they (entire team) got punched in the face last night

THIS current Cowboy team will have been together for 18 games if we play them in SB(as opposed to just 6).

I believe we have a GREAT shot. If you pressure Brady and Moss they are taken out of their game. So far the problem is... opposing teams cant finish what they start against the Pats.

Feeley could have methodically drove down the field and ate up the clock and scored and won the game. He stopped taking what they gave him. He went for what was never there... AND LOST.

Romo wont do that.
