What does 9-7 get you?
It keeps you out of the playoffss. It keeps you mediocre and with worse draft positioning.
So excuse us whiners for whining, but man, a competent coaching staff could have won at least two more games and kept us respectable, if in the league of winners.

That is:
*The only solution Jerry will ever accept is a solution that HAS to have HIM in the center of the picture. He cannot simply OWN his team and ENJOY the success of his team... nor can he even INDIRECTLY contribute to its success... the set of parameters within which the solution must be reached is one in which HE MUST BE A FOOTBALL MAN. So, ever since Jimmy Johnson, if the team is to do well it will have to do well with Jerry BEING SEEN as a football man.
*The problem, of course, is that Jerry IS the problem. He is NOT a football man. He does not understand what makes for a perpetually successful NFL team. If he did he would agree with people like Troy Aikman who say that CHEMISTRY matters. If he did he would agree with people all over the NFL who say that THE COACH HAS TO BE IN CHARGE. If he did he would understand that hard training is more important than hard knocks. But he doesn't agree. And the reason why he doesn't agree is because it REPRESENTS A SOLUTION THAT DOESN'T FIT WITHIN THE SET OF PARAMETERS HE HAS DICTATED.
*So, if you have ideas that will work with Jerry being fully in charge down to the socks and jocks, fire away, but if your idea of a solution marginalizes HIM then you are wasting your breath, he won't buy it.
But what if the only way to fix it won't fit into his dictated set of requirements?
Then the Arizona Cardinals win playoff games and go to the Super Bowl before the Dallas Cowboys do. And we keep looking for NEXT YEAR'S SOLUTION all over again.

These guys have it all under control. We will win the 1st eight games of the season and then...Well...Then it's play time as usual...:bounce:
great post....something I have said 1000 times....he ONLY wants to win if he can win HIS way. And here is the irony in all of this...if the Cowboys were to win....Jerry would not get the credit he THINKS he deserves....because he is NOT viewed as a football man...sustainted success over an extended period of time is his ONLY chance of ever being seen as a football man....but the drought we are in the midst of probably means Jones would have to have a run the Eaglese have had over the last decade.....and it would HAVE to include a couple of trophies. This is the ONLY result that would give him what he craves....and I don't see a decade long run in this bunchrcaldw;2592356 said:When the solution to a problem HAS to be within a set of parameters that YOU have dictated in advance, and the parameters ARE the problem, then you are doomed.
