Does anyone know the split of our salary cap? Defense/Offense? I was curious as to what the differential is in our salary cap, and how significant it actually is. I'd mainly like to see how much of our salary cap is tied into our defense compared to other teams around the NFL. Is our defense as bad as it is because most of our salary is tied up into our offense? Or do we actually have good enough players defensively, but our scheme/injuries are making things worse then they actually are? I understand we've wasted some of our salary cap due to injury especially, but I'd still like to see some actual numbers to help give me an idea.

Off the top of my head, I'd guess that we have around 65-70% of our spent salary tied up into our offense. Defensively, I'd bet we're ranked around 16-22 in the amount of salary we have tied up into defense, but I could be WAY off the mark here.

Anyways, if anyone has the split of our salary cap, it'd be much appreciated if you can post them in this thread, I'd definitely be interested in reviewing the information.

I am curious how much we are paying Miles Austin to watch the games from the hot tub.

Wow, that's inexcusable. I constantly hear around here how we're this offensive first team, but really we've spent just as much of our salary on defense as we have on offense. What an eye opener, I honestly thought it was around a 70/30 split, especially since our defense is ranked among the worst in the NFL. I also find it hilarious that are most neglected area is arguably the best unit on our football team. Thanks to D.H. and D.B.

Thanks for posting this dude, I really am shocked as to how close our salary split is.
